The industrious clients came to us with dreams of a new garage structure to provide a home for all of their passions. The design came together around a three car garage with room for a micro-brewery, workshop and bicycle storage – all attached to the house via a new three season porch – and a native prairie landscape and sauna structure on the roof.

Transitioning this post-war ranch home to a contemporary 2-story with an open floor plan, 3 bedrooms, and a rooftop deck was no small project. Interior and exterior steel stair cases to the rooftop, exposed concrete floors, and exposed structural steel components give this custom remodel project a contemporary and slightly industrial flair.

This roof deck is an extension of a 1,100 square foot condominium in the trendy River North neighborhood. Christy Webber Landscapes assisted with construction of this green roof which includes a fire pit, water feature, custom stone planters, and an arbor to provide shade. Plantings include perennials that can stand up to the sun and heat. This roof deck was featured on HGTV.

In our Contemporary Bellevue Residence we wanted the aesthetic to be clean and bright. This is a similar plan to our Victoria Crest home with a few changes and different design elements. Areas of focus; large open kitchen with waterfall countertops and awning upper flat panel cabinets, elevator, interior and exterior fireplaces, floating flat panel vanities in bathrooms, home theater room, large master suite and rooftop deck.

This nice evening shot of this modern space feels open. What really is surprising is when we designed this space it actually feels like more room has been created. That was a nice surprise. also this space went together so smoothly it was a joy to work with the client. The wood accents on the kitchen really pulled the project together. Designed to accommodate three family generations, paired living spaces on the first and second levels are architecturally expressed on the facade by window systems that wrap the front corners of the house. Included are two kitchens, two living areas, an office for two, and two master suites.
CURB APPEAL
The home includes both modern form and materials, using durable cedar and through-colored fiber cement siding, permeable parking with an electric charging station, and an acrylic overhang to shelter foot traffic from rain.
FEATURE STAIR
An open stair with resin treads and glass rails winds from the basement to the third floor, channeling natural light through all the home’s levels.
LEVEL ONE
The first floor kitchen opens to the living and dining space, offering a grand piano and wall of south facing glass. A master suite and private ‘home office for two’ complete the level.
LEVEL TWO
The second floor includes another open concept living, dining, and kitchen space, with kitchen sink views over the green roof. A full bath, bedroom and reading nook are perfect for the children.
LEVEL THREE
The third floor provides the second master suite, with separate sink and wardrobe area, plus a private roofdeck.
