H2D Architecture + Design developed a comprehensive vision for the renovation of this Bellevue residence, creating a cohesive master plan that can be implemented in phased construction to align with the homeowners' priorities, budget, and timeline. The first phase reimagined the primary suite, including a redesigned bathroom, reconfigured closet and bedroom. Strategic space planning enhanced the functionality and flow of each space while creating a serene, spa-inspired retreat tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle. Future phases will transform the home's main living areas through a complete reconfiguration of the kitchen, dining room, entry, and living room. The design will improve circulation, increase functionality, and create light-filled, beautifully connected spaces.

Leather Description: There is no need to compromise beauty over performance. This Ivory colored leather offers a soft supple hand similar to that of an aniline leather. During the dyeing process, this leather is aniline dyed and a pigmented layer is added for color consistency and texture. This pigmented layer also, adds a protective performance coating and durability against daily stains and spills making the leather designed to perform in high traffic areas such as residential family rooms, commercial office spaces and hospitality applications. Ultimately, the leather is fade resistant and is the perfect high performing leather.
Embossed Leather Description: A leather used to accent many of today's home interiors. The leather hide is first embossed with a large crocodile grain and then colored by applying two base color coats of micro pigments. The leather is then wiped-off to give it a contrast of colors utilizing the base color combination. This color contrast is further accented by two additional top coat colors that are wiped-on by hand to give the leather a beautiful antique look. The last step is to slightly protect the hand work of the leather hide with a lacquer topcoat that provides great depth and warmth to the finished product.
Frame Construction: Using traditional hand craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods to produce frames that are among the finest used in the upholstery business. Each frame is precisely cut and hand assembled using kilned dried lumber. Double dowels are utilized in all structural parts to form sturdy, long lasting joints. To complete construction and add stability to the frame, large precisely cut corner blocks are positioned at each corner where the greatest stress occurs using both glues and screws. Limited Lifetime Warranty
Seat Cushions: Marshall Springs encased in 1.8 density foam, wrapped in 2 ounce fiber and encased in a sewn ticking. Limited Lifetime Warranty

“Whole house remodel” is a pale description of this home’s complete re-imagining collectively achieved by architect Marty Buckenmeyer, interior designers at bright designlab, and builder Hammer & Hand. After clearing out the segmented living room walls and design stylings hailing from the 70s and 80s, H&H built a modern dwelling with an addition, open living and kitchen area, and eclectic details throughout. All new double-paned windows running the length of the common area wall brighten the space with treetop-framed views of Portland beyond.
Hammer & Hand’s carpenters flexed their skills with many fine carpentry details including a custom metal bomber door produced by our woodshop, wood-panel wall with grain-matched hidden pop-out doors, and a steel and concrete fireplace hearth with built-in cabinets.

This ambitious remodel touched all interiors and exteriors of this 1925 Tudor, including significant work on the shell to increase home comfort and performance. Hammer & Hand replaced most exterior widows—save for a handful of the original leaded glass panes—and built a kitchen addition matching the distinct swoops of the existing roof. Inside, French doors were removed and entryways enlarged to brighten the space and create longer sight-lines throughout the living areas.
In addition to all new interior finishes, H&H also added a fully finished basement with living area, study, spare bedroom, bathroom, and a mini climate-controlled wine cellar tucked into an unobtrusive corner.

hOMe is our 207sf (+110sf in lofts) tiny house on wheels that we built in 4 months. Off grid and nestled on 5 acres, the house cost just over $33k for us to build. We live and work full time from it and it serves every one of our needs simply and elegantly.

The comfortable stairs go up to the master loft in hOMe, our modern tiny house on wheels. The tall IKEA cabinets serve as our office storage. In the top cabinets is our printer, paper supplies, and books. The white wall paneling is simply Iron Ply (a 1/4" lightweight vinyl subflooring material) spaced apart with tyco nails during installation and painted white. The effect is a modern, high end wall paneling system but at a fraction of the cost.
