My home was built in 1925, and I saved the kitchen for last because it was the most important room in the house. By 2022, I had accumulated enough inspiration photos to qualify for a second career in kitchen design. I knew I wanted a true cook's kitchen, exceptional storage, strong color, and a space connected to the rest of my home. Kitchen Design Concepts brought the expertise needed to turn my vision into reality. Designer Rebecca Sutton helped refine the layout, materials, and functionality while keeping the Galley Workstation Sink at the center of the design. A major turning point came when I accepted that the 5-foot Galley Workstation Sink could not fit under the kitchen window. Once the flow of the room became the priority, the entire project changed for the better. The most transformative moment occurred during construction when Project Manager Mike Thompson identified the opportunity to raise the ceiling and create a single unified volume between the kitchen and breakfast room. Combined with the pony wall and arch, the space took on an entirely new personality. The improved flow transformed the relationship between the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Mike truly brought the project to life. Historic homes rarely cooperate with plans on paper, and he had the skill, patience, and practical eye needed to bridge the gap between design intent and job-site reality. He coordinated trades, held subcontractors accountable, maintained high standards, and found practical solutions throughout the project. This kitchen would not be what it is today without him. Color was central to my vision. I wanted vertical color — the architecture itself carrying the color story rather than relying on a traditional backsplash. By extending Inchyra Blue beyond the walls and pairing it with Dark Night cabinetry, painted moldings, and window frames, the room feels immersive rather than decorative. The hero of the kitchen is the 5-foot Galley Workstation Sink. The jewelry is the Blue Marine Quartzite, with bookmatched slabs and 4-inch mitered edges creating a dramatic focal point. Hidden panel-ready appliances, a custom cookbook library, and thoughtful storage complete the space. Founder & CEO Mary Kathryn Reese remained accessible throughout the project. In 2026, the project received both NKBA and NARI recognition, including NARI North Texas Remodeler of the Year honors for Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration. Today, my kitchen feels personal, loved, and lived in. It is my sanctuary. More importantly, it has become the kind of kitchen where people do not just visit — they join in. Whether sitting at the bistro table while I cook, enjoying coffee or lunch, or cooking with friends, people naturally gather, participate, linger, and feel welcome. Kitchen Design Concepts helped transform a collection of ideas into a kitchen that honors a 1925 home while functioning beautifully for modern life.

We’ve worked with Kitchen Design Concepts on three projects now — our kitchen, master bath, and Jack-and-Jill bath — and honestly wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again. They are excellent listeners and always came back with design ideas that felt creative, practical, and perfectly suited to our mid-century modern home. Nothing felt cookie-cutter. Erica partnered with us on all three projects and was fantastic — responsive, thoughtful, and just really easy to work with. Megan was a great additon to the team for our latest work. We relied on Kitchen Design Concepts to remodel our kitchen and four bathrooms. I definitely would rely on them again for those projects and for any other remodeling needs. I initially worked with Erica Illions and then with both Erica and Megan Des Bordes. In our initial consultations, they listen carefully to our ideas. After that, they submit creative designs and do an excellent job of overseeing the work. One thing that sets them apart: they adhere to their schedule and bring the projects in on time so that you know what to expect and when to expect it. If something goes wrong, they take responsibility and work toward a mutually-acceptable solution. I would highly recommend them.

When we met with KDC about the potential to have them do our kitchen remodel, they talked about "process," and without ever using the word "transparency," that's what they described. And that's exactly how this team functions. We were assigned a designer (Lane) and project manager (Mike), who were smart, experienced, easy to work with, and valued an incredible end result that matched our own. KDC uses a web-based platform to ensure active and transparent communication between them, the tradesmen (all of whom had clear, friendly, and professional relationships with Mike and Lane, who were onsite frequently), and us. Because we lived at the house with our family/pets throughout the remodel, it was nice to check the platform to see what's happening day-to-day (especially while on vacation!), although we rarely needed to because Mike and Lane were above and beyond communicative. Demo day (tore out everything/reused nothing but the dishwasher) was in mid-July, and we were down to our punch list by the end of September - RIGHT on schedule and stayed JUST below our budget (until we added another project because of the trust KDC built with us and how easy they made everything). We're excited to use them again soon for a total bathroom remodel!

Kitchen Design Concepts remodeled our home’s kitchen 15 years ago and had a great experience working with them. When we decided to update and remodel our family room fireplace and possibly refresh the kitchen countertops and backsplash to tie the rooms together, returning to KDC for their expertise was an easy decision. We knew we’d be in good hands. Our designers Erica and Megan were fantastic and a delight to work with. They listened to our vision for the project and brought us beautiful design options. They were respectful of our budget and our timeline for completion of the work. Communication was stellar and we never had to wonder what was happening next or when it was scheduled to occur. The project management was handled perfectly from start to finish. The sub contractors that worked in our house were highly skilled professionals, and unexpected challenges (that are to be expected with any remodel) were addressed immediately by the KDC team. We recently decided to gut our high-rise condo kitchen and chose Kitchen Design Concepts for the project. We could not be more pleased with the result. Due to space limitations, we had to use the same footprint as our previous one, but kitchen designer Lane Taylor crafted nearly double space, from a storage standpoint and made the entire kitchen more user-friendly and completely exquisite. Kitchen project foreman Mike Thompson ran a tight ship keeping things on schedule and the construction space extra clean. Kitchen Design Concepts led us through each phase: envisioning our fabulous new kitchen; appliance, cabinetry and hardware selections, and ultimately, installation. We would choose Kitchen Design Concepts again any day of the week and highly recommend this company to others for kitchen, bath remodels and complete home design.

Completed our renovation project with KDC which including main floor kitchen, 2 baths, study and master. From our perspective the process was seamless between subs and the Project Manager was excellent at communication and managing the changes. Project included design, build, decorating and support for all purchased items. The kitchen is completely updated(counters, cabinets, floor, electric, lighting etc)new bathrooms(all new)and new master bedroom/bath(all new). Quality materials and craftsmanship was excellent. Highly recommend.

Kitchen Design Concepts did a WONDERFUL job with our kitchen remodel. Erica was extremely knowledgeable and helpful from our initial consultation and throughout our renovation. We went with a Revive option, updating our flooring, counters, lighting, paint and backsplash; but keeping our existing cabinets and painting / updating hardware. We were so pleased with the end result, which us a beautiful, updated, designer kitchen! Erica, Megan and the KDC team were very responsive, communicative and punctual throughout the entire process. Their portal made it very easy to stay up to date on the project plan and schedule. They were able to give us exactly what we wanted within our preferred budget. I couldn’t be happier with my whole-home remodel by Kitchen Design Concepts! The team was a pleasure to work with, from the initial consultation to the move-in day and beyond. When I met with Mary Kathryn, she explained the process very thoroughly, and I knew that I was in great hands. Lane and Katie, with their keen eye for detail, meticulously brought my inspiration boards to life. Their expert guidance throughout the design process was invaluable. We completely gutted four full bathrooms, replaced all of the flooring and lighting throughout the house, and remodeled four fireplaces. They expanded and transformed a tiny laundry room into a large functional space filled with beautiful floor-to-ceiling cabinets and a craft/workspace desk. The project manager, Mike, kept me informed every step of the way and promptly addressed any questions I had. He updated the project management portal daily , so I always knew what was happening at the house! The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the finished space are truly impressive. I wasn't very excited about my home purchase before hiring KDC - Now, I love my home and am so grateful to Kitchen Design Concepts for giving me a gorgeous magazine-worthy home. Their integrity, professionalism, and design talent are second to none.

When our master bath needed updating, I toyed with a DIY project, and we entertained budget proposals through the big box stores. It was obvious these options would not be satisfactory. Kitchen Design Concepts designed and remodeled our kitchen 12 years ago and we enjoy it every day. We wanted to repeat the great experience we had with KDC and called to see if they could help. We were delighted to learn KDC were now designing and remodeling baths too and that Katie, our kitchen designer, had recently returned. Fortune had confirmed our intuition. The design process exceeded our expectations, literally flipping our bathroom. A spacious shower with a bench replaced the outdated back-to-back vanity. Katie guided us in selecting materials and addressed all our concerns. Quality cabinets doubled our storage. The higher counters and wider, shallower sinks we chose are perfect and replaced the unused tub and cramped shower. The other option we appreciate is the taller toilet which is far more comfortable to use. KDC accommodated our request for a skylight and coordinated the install. Mike, our KDC job manager was always available, kept on project on track and skillfully managed the sub-contractors and schedule. KDC transformed our master bathroom into a gorgeous sanctuary. Their pre-construction planning was incredibly thorough and they made the process of renovating much less painful. We would definitely use them again for future home renovation projects.

I worked with Kitchen Design Concepts twice. The first time was a few years ago to renovate and update my kitchen. I worked with Erica on that job. Most recently, I hired Kitchen Design Concepts to renovate my master bath taking it down to the studs. Erica and Megan were the project managers for the his and hers master bath. My design team worked with my decorator to create a stunning bathroom within my budget.KDC has their own subs who were all wonderful. They showed up, did high-quality work, they never left a mess, and importantly, they were in my home without supervision and did not commit theft. Of course no project goes without issues, but the sign of a good design company is that they can problem solve and get the job completed without huge add-on costs.
