Cute compact living room. This living room in a very small rental apartment had bland marmoleum flooring and an very small foot print. We brought in a silky rug to complement the wall colour and a lux blue velvet love seat to warm up the space. We hacked an Ikea buffet by adding a stained wood top to add a complementary wood to the coffee table. We choose a round coffee table on wheels to keep the flow of the room easy and to accomodate different configurations of the room. Two comfy side chairs bring more seating and a nesting table between adds extra table space if needed for entertaining. We finished off this room with pops of colour in the accessories, lux pillows and whimsical bird-on-a-wire curtains!

Reclaimed wood bunk beds from "hacked" European wood beams - beams that were originally harvested by hand, with an axe. This modern rustic kids bedroom in a vacation or second home can fit four kids comfortably.

Our Brooklyn client needed to mix coat closet space with a buffet server all in one livingroom area. Eric designed this unit using two IKEA Pax wardrobes and IKEA Besta cabinets and mixed the two product lines to create this one consistent high-gloss white unit

IKD also customized their sink and cooktop cabinets. The SEKTION cabinets that fit the IKEA farmhouse sink can’t accommodate non-IKEA apron sinks. And IKEA offers neither a rangetop (front-controlled cooktop) nor the base cabinet to accommodate this kind of cooktop. Luckily, we designed a kitchen hack for IKEA cabinets that solves both of these problems. (Yes, it’s a two-in-one IKEA kitchen hack that works for both appliances!)

Interior Design Express TM The Queen likes straight lines and contemporary designs. The most important thing for her is ease of cleaning: Easy-to-clean high gloss cabinet doors and stainless steel backsplash above the range which also adds a stylish commercial kitchen look. The faux marble surfaces are more durable than the natural stone surfaces. These look amazingly realistic! The client didn’t want to have a tall pantry cabinet so that a lower-height cabinet is provided with open shelves and drawers with an Ikea furniture hack suggested by the designer. The glossy plastic-laminated cabinet doors, plywood-texture edge bindings and espresso-color reveals between cabinet doors are subtle details for a stylish kitchen. The free-standing LG bottom-freezer refrigerator is so slick, so there is no need for an enclosure and cabinets above it. Track light at the ceiling allows the light fixture heads to point at different surfaces and open shelves. .
