Door style: Pendleton 275 Inset | Species: Paint grade | Finish: White
Island: Casual Vintage Smokey Blue
For this remodel, the large central island was realigned, turned 90 degrees from its previous location. Its Casual Vintage Smokey Blue finish shows a unique hand brushing treatment that is very subtle, and offers strong contrast to the clean white paint of the other cabinetry. Note how Showplace appliance panels integrate the large refrigerator into the setting.

The granite-topped island is home to a large farm apron sink, as well as the dishwasher and a pull-out double trash bin. Note how the Victorian base molding along the bottom contributes a feeling of mass, while the corner columns add visual interest and appeal.

This executive home was built in the early 1990s, and it has been a work in progress ever since. With beautiful spaces, a park-like setting, and creative owners, the home has been expanded and re-imagined in many ways. What you see here is the second full remodel using Showplace cabinetry in multiple rooms. The handsome Pendleton 275 Inset door style lends understated grace to the rooms, and is notable for its wider 2-3/4" cope-and-stick frame.

The existing cabinets did not have any storage in the corner because the DW was located right of the sink. My moving the DW to the left side of the sink, allowed room for me to add a blind corner cabinet with a pull out storage system from Hafele.

Grays add a softness to the design, whether as a primary color, shown in the kitchen here, or as a secondary color, often on an island.
Gray is the perfect fit for the growing trend of Transitional design. The washed look and character of Peppercorn cherry paired with our Boardwalk door style creates a naturally calm and simple space. Designing with consistent horizontal sight lines, linear crown and a blended color palette are a few of the key elements to create a Transitional haven.
Pairing gray toned finishes, such as stain and paint, allows you to showcase multiple textures and values for creating depth through a layered approach.
