The new design expanded the footprint of the home to 1,271 square feet for the first level and 1,156 for the new second level. A new entry with a quarter turn stair leads you into the original living space. The old guest bedroom that was once accessed through the dining room is now connected to the front living space by pocket doors. This remodel was located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. The dining room features authentic mid century modern furniture and a colorful Louis Poulsen pendant.

Lueders limestone was used extensively in the project and takes on many different forms ranging from cut stone pavers to monolithic load-bearing blocks to a special tapered profile that clads the main house. The tapered stone cladding creates a weaving effect on the facade of the house and is appearance changes throughout the day as the sun creates continuously shifting shadow patterns.

This is a two car garage with an apartment above on the second floor. It also has a pergola with tapered columns and stone pillars in the side yard. The exterior is finished with Azek trim boards, Anderson 400 double hung windows and James Hardie pre-finished cement board siding.
