This was a typical small galley Baltimore, Maryland row home kitchen. The main thing that homeowners were looking to due is to get maximum storage, and make the room feel bigger. We went with Showplace cabinets, a line that fit the home owners budget, in a painted white finish. To match the time frame the the homes were built, but give it a modern feel, we went with a Concord f/o door style. The countertops were a 3cm thick granite called Brown Fantasy with a half bullnose edge. The sink was an AS103 "D" shaped stainless steel undermount sink.The appliances were bought when they first bought the house and they went with the GE Artisan Collection. These appliance have the through back look of the late 50's for when the home was built. To also help make the room feel larger we used 48" high double entry cabinet with a 2 pc crown so the cabinets went up to the tall ceiling. To make the kitchen to feel more open the homeowners wanted to put a passthru to the dining room and seating on the dining room side of the passtru. Our clients had enjoyed their home for more than 25 years, but little had changed during that time. They were ready for a full main level renovation. We started by working collaboratively to re-envision the kitchen space to ensure we achieved key goals: open sight lines to the eating area and family room; space for an island with seating; new locations for the range and refrigerator; and removal of an awkward pantry and unused desk. The redesigned space called for removing a load bearing wall to allow space for the island and to repurpose the pantry and desk square footage for wall ovens, refrigerator, and pantry. The clients selected a warm white paint for the perimeter cabinetry (Medallion Cabinetry, White Icing) and balanced the design with a stained cherry island and hood (Medallion Cabinetry, French Roast). The dramatic Cambria Helmsley was chosen for the island countertop, with the serene Silestone Eternal Marfil for the perimeter. The simple subway backsplash ensures the bronze metal tile, laid in a herringbone pattern over the range, is the focal point on the perimeter walls. Bronze accents with the sink (Elkay, Mocha), lighting, cabinetry hardware, and furniture reinforce the warm atmosphere. Our clients chose beautiful, yet durable, Armstrong Alterna luxury vinyl tile in Artisan Forge for the kitchen. For the other spaces — living room, dining room, foyer, family room, office, and powder room — we laid Armstrong Paragon Oak hardwood in Countryside Brown. Final touches included a buffet in the eating area, new hardwood staircase with iron balusters, wool stair runner, two custom area rugs, and new powder room vanity and accessories.

This early american cape style home built in 1820 was restored to it original beauty. Green antiqued, distressed cabinets, honed granite countertops, hand forged iron cabinet pulls, a chimney style vent hood, and heavily distressed furniture style island all help to create an aura of authenticity in this kitchen, while stainless steel appliances add a dash of modernity.

This vignette provides a close look at the beautiful detail of the full wall backsplash. The mirror is slightly raised from the wall and has a slim frame on the sides. The yellow towel and natural greenery add the right compliment of colors.

This newly remodeled kitchen oozes traditional craftsman style right down to the hand-crafted tile above the stove top. Modern updates married into the design keep the space functional. A sleek stove top includes a vent that rises from the countertop when the in use. Bamboo flooring is a sustainable option that contrasts beautifully with the warm cherry cabinets. What was once a traditional butler's pantry is now added storage and counter space (to the left of the door). This kitchen has it all - style, counterspace, storage, and garden views!
