Constricted by a structural wall that could not be moved, to widen the door leading into the master bedroom we eked out every inch by removing the hinged door, eliminating the casing, and installing a barn door that slides completely out of the way of the opening. Heavy duty hardware promotes easy motion and minimal force to open and close the door.

Originating from XVII century France, and often referred to as mosaic flooring, parquet flooring is highly recognized thanks to its decorative effect. It was the most popular option among the richest Frenchman. At one time, having a genuine parquet hardwood floor was a sign of opulent wealth because of the craftsmanship involved in creating unique and artistic geometric patterns on the floor. Parquet flooring differs from ordinary hardwood flooring as the pieces of wood used are much smaller and are arranged in decorative geometric patterns such as chevron and herringbone. You will see angular shapes such as squares, triangles, and lozenges featuring strongly in traditional parquet flooring. Common species used in parquet floors include oak, maple, walnut, cherry, and sometimes other exotic hardwoods like mahogany.

Inspiration for a scandinavian kitchen remodel in Copenhagen

Bathroom in Ridgerunner Drive | Room Type: Whole Home Remodel | Project Name: Ridgerunner | Key Feature: A full-home transformation that converted the property from a dated Tuscan style into a modern farmhouse design with a more contemporary edge. Challenge: The home’s original Tuscan style felt dated and did not align with the homeowners’ desired aesthetic. The challenge was to modernize the entire space while creating a design that remained practical and comfortable for a young family with a child. Solution: The home underwent a complete remodel that replaced the heavy Tuscan finishes with a lighter, more modern farmhouse palette. Updated materials, finishes, and design details created a fresh, contemporary look while maintaining a family-friendly environment. Timeline: Completed in 2019.
