What began as a kitchen and bath update ultimately became a whole-home transformation, touching every floor — from the main living level to the bedroom floor and even the attic. On the first floor, we completed a full gut renovation and thoughtful reconfiguration of the layout. Walls were removed — including a former pantry and powder room — to dramatically improve sightlines and flow between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen footprint was expanded to accommodate a generously sized island designed for gathering. A two-tone cabinetry palette establishes subtle zoning: Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue anchors the island and refrigerator surround, while White Tie brightens the perimeter cabinetry. Paneled appliances conceal the dishwasher and trash, while a stainless refrigerator adds balance and contrast. Antique brass hardware and oversized statement pendants layer in warmth and charm. Inside the cabinetry, custom storage solutions — from built-in spice racks and pull-out trays to a dedicated Tupperware drawer with lid dividers — ensure everything has its place. The former dining room was reimagined as a full-service butler’s pantry, complete with a second prep sink, paneled beverage drawers, an ice maker, glass display cabinetry, and abundant storage. Two built-in desks and a bench create a flexible zone for puzzles, homework, or casual seating. By relocating coffee and cocktail service to this dedicated space, the main kitchen remains uncluttered — even during large gatherings. THIS WAS A PLAN DESIGN & INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT. The Aiken Hunt is a perfect home for a family with many family members. This home was designed for a family who has out of town guests often, and they needed a lot of space to spread out when everyone comes to town for holidays and gatherings. This home meets the demand. An open concept in the informal areas allows the family to be together when they want to, and separated formal rooms handle the task of formality when entertaining as such. Two Bedroom Suites with private baths, and one addition bedroom with hall bath access and a private Study (plus additional Bonus Room space) are on the second floor. The first floor accommodates a Two Story Foyer, Two Story Living Room, high ceiling Family Room, elaborate Kitchen with eat-in Informal Dining Space, Formal Dining, large Walk-in Closet in the Foyer, Laundry Room, 2 staircases, Master Suite with Sitting Area and a luxury Master Bathroom are all spacious yet, do not waste space. When your family grows, so should the house! What an amazing place to spend your childhood years at - imagining all the fun that has been had, and will continue to be had within these walls is making us happily nostalgic! The original garage structure on this beach front property served our client well for many years, however, a major renovation was required to create additional living spaces for the family and to accommodate all the happenings that go with family holidays by the beach. The garage was dismantled leaving just the bare concrete slab which was to be extended with new structural footings to support the new two storey structure.

House Plan 4531 is a larger version (2,495 s.f.) of our most popular ranch Craftsman House Plan 1895 but with many new features. All of the bedrooms are larger and include walk-in closets. The secondary bedrooms each have private dressing/vanity areas and share a tub/toilet. The master bath boasts a walk-in shower showcased behind a garden tub. The walk-in-closet is huge. The kitchen is highlighted by an oversized island with an eating bar. More than adequate counter and cabinet space wraps this space, which is now wide-open to the family room. Complete Bathroom installed in a basement. We took an empty unfinished space and created a beautiful finished bathroom to get the basement started. This bathroom had to be completed before Christmas to accommodate family that was coming to town for the holiday. This total project start to finish took roughly 3 weeks. We installed Ditra underlayment under the floor tile and Kerdi waterproofing membrane behind the wall tiles to create a completely waterproof surround. All the tile was installed once we finished the framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall and paint.

Intimate dining functions great as a daily eating spot, but can also accommodate holiday get togethers. Two sided fireplace connects dining room to great room.

This custom table is 80" x 80" to accommodate a large multi-generational family at their many holidays and gatherings. The unique square shape lets everyone connect with one another rather than being seated at a long table where it is difficult to talk to someone at the other end. The 2" thick top is made of solid red birch. The base is solid wood with steel supports. A 48" custom made lazy susan is used in the center at main meals.

They also planned to be away for the summer during the remodel and needed their renovation project to be finished prior to their return for the winter. Their needs included: Changing the color pallet to a monochromatic scheme, removing the yellow brick pavers, adding an outdoor kitchen area, adding an outdoor fireplace, resurfacing the pool and updating the tile, installing a new screen enclosure, and creating privacy from the neighbors, particularly the main sitting areas, pool and outdoor kitchen. Although there was already a 1,221 sq. ft. lanai under the roof, it lacked functionality needed by the homeowners. Most of its amenities were located at one end of the lanai, and lacked privacy that the homeowners valued. Solution The final project design required two additions to the lanai area adding an accumulative 265 sq. ft. to the existing space expanding their sitting area and accommodating a much-needed outdoor kitchen. The new additions also needed to blend with the home’s existing style. Addition #1—Sitting Area: The first addition added approximately 145 sq. ft. to the end of the lanai. This allowed Progressive Design Build to tie into the existing gable room for the new space and create privacy from the neighbors. Addition #2—Outdoor Kitchen: The second addition was a bump out that added approximately 120 sq. ft. to the end of the house close to the interior kitchen. This allowed the client to add an outdoor over and 52” Viking grill (with a side burner) to their outdoor living space. Other amenities included a new sink and under counter fridge, granite countertops, tumbled stone stile and Cypress cabinetry, custom-fabricated with marine grade plywood boxes and marine grade finishes to withstand moisture, common in the Bonita Bay community. Special attention was given to the preparation area on either side of the stove, the landing area next to the oven and the serving counter behind the bar. Bar seating was added to the outdoor kitchen, allowing guests to visit with the cook comfortably and easily. Brick Pavers During the design phase, we discovered that the original brick pavers were set in sand, with no concrete pad below. Consequently, the retaining wall and several pavers were starting to fail, caused by the shifting sands. To remedy the problem, we installed a new concrete deck and laid new nonslip pavers on top of the deck—ideal for wet area applications. Pool Renovations To dramatically improve the enjoyment and ambiance of their pool, Progressive Design Build completely re-plumbed it, putting in additional lighting and new water features. New decorative pool tile, coping, and a paver deck were also installed around the pool. The pool finish chosen by our clients was a nice tropical blue color. Screen Enclosure A new screen enclosure was installed in compliance with new local building codes, making it more stable and solid than the existing one. The color change from white to bronze coordinated well with the homeowners’ new color scheme; and the location of the service door and stairs provided convenient access to the new pool equipment. Results This project was completed on time and within budget before these homeowners returned for their winter holiday. They were thrilled with the weekly communication, which included two-way phone calls and email photo sharing. They always knew where their project was in the construction process and what was happening at all times—providing security and peace of mind.

This award-winning classic + transitional + retro kitchen remodel was part of multi-room home remodeling and interior design project. The clients wanted to include some mid-century modern elements, but didn't want the room to feel like a capsule space. We used classic slab door style kitchen cabinets in a cherry finish and a muted aqua color palette in the finishes and custom elements. Another goal was to create a space that would easily convert from small family meals to large holiday gatherings. To accommodate this request, we added a custom booth on the back of the peninsula, a large bar/buffet, a vintage teak table with butterfly leaves, and extra seating bench. To top it off, we added the glamorous gold leaf oversized pendant, which steals the show without being out of proportion to the space.
