2013 PROFESSIONAL REMODELER, SILVER AWARD WINNER, RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN Located in the new Trump International Golf Course Community, this contemporary home has a great location overlooking the golf course. The current layout, however, prevented the owners from taking advantage of its breathtaking view. Goals of the remodel were to open up the first floor layout by taking down the partition walls between the kitchen and dining room. The homeowner also wanted to update the home’s galley kitchen, replacing its dark cabinets and counters. Once the walls were removed, major obstacles because they were load bearing, the new design could evolve. The ten foot ceilings provided the opportunity to stack up decorative glass cabinetry and highly crafted crown moldings on top, while maintaining a considerable amount of cabinetry right below it. The custom made brush stroke finished cabinetry with bells and whistles such as corbels and chimney style wood hood surrounded with leaded glass cabinetry. Pillars were all part of detailed craftsmanship of this project. A large 5’ x 14’ island is the focal point of the design. The island consists of main sink with a pedal style control disposal, dishwasher, microwave, second bar sink, beverage center refrigerator and still has room to sit five to six people. Its darker cabinetry provides a beautiful contrast to the opaque white cabinets on the surrounding walls. White marble counters and backsplash brighten up the kitchen and two crystal chandeliers create a timeless yet elegant feel. High-end Thermador appliances covered in custom inset panels are part of this featured project to implement the classic look the homeowner wanted for this kitchen. Finally, a featured cabinet arch with leaded glass separates the kitchen from the dining room and displays the homeowner’s fine china. Finally, large windows and French doors offer beautiful golf course views from multiple vantage points.

Plaza 400 is a premiere full-service luxury co-op in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Built in 1968 by architect Philip Birnbaum and Associates, the well-known building has 40 stories and 627 residences. Amenities include a heated outdoor pool, state of the art fitness center, garage, driveway, bike room, laundry room, party room, playroom and rooftop deck. The extensive 2017 renovation included the main lobby, elevator lift hallway and mailroom. Plaza 400’s gut renovation included new 4’x8′ Calacatta floor slabs, custom paneled feature wall with metal reveals, marble slab front desk and mailroom desk, modern ceiling design, hand blown cut mirror on all columns and custom furniture for the two “Living Room” areas. The new mailroom was completely gutted as well. A new Calacatta Marble desk welcomes residents to new white lacquered mailboxes, Calacatta Marble filing countertop and a Jonathan Adler chandelier, all which come together to make this space the new jewel box of the Lobby. The hallway’s gut renovation saw the hall outfitted with new etched bronze mirrored glass panels on the walls, 4’x8′ Calacatta floor slabs and a new vaulted/arched pearlized faux finished ceiling with crystal chandeliers and LED cove lighting.

The Artisans Group designed the layout of the home, mindful of aging in place, and working to ensure that the home blended in with the surrounding natural beauty. The project meets a complex program, with an unheated sleeping porch for a master bedroom, a screened porch, a 600 sf caretakers apartment/mother in law unit, large wood shop, plus a two car carport. The home seamlessly integrates a floating cedar tongue and groove roof with large sheltering overhangs, clerestory windows, and language of cedar slats for privacy screens and doors inside and out. The warm, natural materials of wood and cork for the interior palette are punctuated by lively accents and stunning fixtures. This ultra energy efficient home relies on extremely high levels of insulation, air-tight detailing and construction, and the implementation of high performance, custom made European windows and doors by Zola Windows. Zola’s ThermoPlus Clad line, which boasts R-11 triple glazing and is thermally broken with a layer of patented German Purenit®, was selected for the project. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area, gives an expansive view of the surrounding Northwest forest. The tops of these windows reveal the interior cedar clad and the up-swept soffits on the home’s exterior, creating a floating ceiling effect. Slatted spruce wood fly-overs break up the vertical areas of the great room and define separate areas that would otherwise feel like an overwhelmingly expansive space. Modern living with ocean breezes __ This is another development project EdenLA assisted the client to finish quickly and for top dollar. The fun challenge of more contemporary spaces is how to make them warm and inviting while still maintaining the overall masculine appeal of their architecture. Water features, playful custom abstract art, unique furniture layouts, and warm stone and cabinetry decisions all helped to achieve that in this space. We had the opportunity of working with this wonderful client in Cedarbrae. They wanted a space that was modern and inviting. We implemented stunning gold accents into the hardware and lighting. The kitchen is framed with open shelves on either side of the hoodfan and features a unique backsplash. Black and white quartz countertops play off each other keeping the space intriguing. A favourite detail of ours is the geometric wallpaper that highlights the powder room. The main bathroom displays natural wood millwork that warms up the space and invites you inside! All in all this project turned out stunning!

This classy final product was the result of many challenging weeks and lots of changes! What started out as a pretty large scope of work turned into a massive scope of work, and we ended up designing and reworking just about every part of every space in the house. On the main level, we upgraded an existing powder room, adding a pantry to the kitchen, installed a new gas fireplace to replace the old wood burning, painted everything with a new fresh palette, scraped off the popcorn ceilings, and implemented a new lighting scheme throughout. Upstairs, we did a full upgrade remodel to the guest bathroom, and gorgeous renovation to the master bathroom. We installed new ceiling fans in every bedroom, painted the entire level, hung a new stairwell chandelier, replaced closet doors, scraped popcorn ceilings, and added recessed lights. In the basement, we added a new stair railing, remodeled the basement bathroom, completed re-faced the existing fireplace and hearth, added a new gas insert, created a gorgeous back storage wall, and scraped popcorn ceilings. We also painted and added recessed lighting here, and replaced old wood doors with fresh white ones. This whole house carries a gorgeous, fresh, elegantly traditional aesthetic now that is cohesive and beautiful!

Character and charm are abundant in this main floor remodel. The home edged toward a traditional style going in and we chose to honor this feel and carry it throughout while updating the space. From a space-planning perspective, the first volley was to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room and let the light shine in. And shine in it does! The numerous windows stayed in place and now do their job allowing light to flow from room to room. Those very windows are trimmed in natural white oak and paired with arched wood-cased openings to add warmth to the scene. Wood beams between the kitchen and the family room and new stone on the fireplace add a nuanced rustic touch while keeping with the overall feel of the home. These organic elements beautifully offset the crisp whites and blues found everywhere you look. A patterned tile offers visual interest in the backsplash and travels from the counters to the ceiling bringing the eye with it. Orb-like woven pendant lights lend texture and interest to the marble topped island and brushed gold accent task lighting hangs above the apron sink. When a traditional style is held in high regard, and implemented well, it is nothing short of priceless.

An update was needed for an outdated kitchen with spacing and workflow issues. The revamped design not only addressed safety concerns and improved functionality but also introduced full-height pullouts and a corner pantry to maximize storage efficiency. Installing the same flooring throughout the main floor of the house created a sense of cohesion and enhanced the visual flow in the home. A new lighting plan was implemented to deliver light to crucial areas to improve visibility and visual comfort while working in the kitchen, as well as contributed to a sense of spaciousness. Ultimately, the remodel resulted in a stylish, inviting, and efficient kitchen with unencumbered pathways to the work areas.

A historic row house in the museum district of Richmond, VA was renovated from the studs up. Many of its original elements were restored while functional, eco-friendly and efficient modern updates were implemented. An open concept main floor, three bright bedrooms upstairs with brand new bathrooms and a fully finished basement/den made this a brand new home, but with character and history built in.

This is a super modern townhome with original pale tones, mainly a white canvas. Our sophisticated and well-traveled out-of-town clients purchased this townhome right in the middle of the pandemic. They needed a full-cycle interior design studio like ours to take on this project while they were in transit to Montecito. The scope was the complete renovation and facelift of the kitchen, powder room, master bedroom, master bathroom, guest suites, basement, and outdoor areas. Our clients wanted to bring warm tones such as orange and red throughout the 4-story Montecito townhome. They were open to discovering and implementing different interior design ideas in each section of the house. This project also features our SORELLA furniture pieces made exclusively by hand in Portugal and shipped to our clients in Montecito. The condo, which is situated in the picturesque waterfront community of Egg Harbor, will be transformed into a modern and functional living space. The goal of the remodel is to create a comfortable and inviting environment that takes full advantage of the natural beauty of the area. The scope of the project includes a complete gutting of the existing space and the installation of all new finishes and fixtures. The following is a breakdown of the work that was completed: Demolition: The existing flooring, walls, and ceilings will be removed to prepare for the new construction. Flooring: New hardwood flooring will be installed throughout the main living areas and bedrooms. Walls and Ceilings: The walls and ceilings will be refinished and painted with a fresh coat of paint. Lighting: A new lighting plan will be implemented to improve functionality and aesthetics. Kitchen: The kitchen will be completely redesigned and remodeled with new cabinetry, countertops, and appliances. Bathrooms: The bathrooms will be remodeled with new tile, vanities, and fixtures.
