We were asked by our homeowner to convert what seemed like a small kitchen and dining room area into one large kitchen. The problem was the structural wall separating the two rooms. We proposed removing the structural wall and replacing it with a steel beam that would carry the load of the second floor and which would allow us to unify the space. After loadbearing work was complete, new wood plank flooring was installed throughout, followed by new Canadian made, Benjamin Moore painted cabinetry. Beautiful Quartz countertops were then installed and a handmade look tile was applied to the backsplash. Look at the before pictures where we started, quite a difference!

This farm house kitchen has a lovely cream painted finish on knotty pine. The concrete counter in sage green is a lovely compliment to the distressed cabinetry.

The delicate faux painting on this living room ceiling picks up the soft tones of the rooms interior. Plaster mouldings define the ceiling and glazed crown mouldings wrap the entire room.

The faux painted china cabinet is finished in a yellow base paint with green glazing on all the edging. The bead board back and soft scallop valances create a perfect place for this clients pewter collection. The colonial side chairs are painted to match the cabinet with hand painted sprays of fresh herbs on the top rails and drawer fronts of the cabinet. The glass cabinets are finished in a bottle green milk paint.

This country farmhouse fireplace was re-built with an antique brick surround and hearth. To finish this surround a new wooden mantel was applied with a faux finish that ages the look of the wood grain.
