SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + ConstructionOur client desired a functional, tasteful, and improved environment to compliment their home. The overall goal was to create a landscape that was subtle and not overdone. The client was highly focused on their deck environment that would span across the rear of the house with an area for a Jacuzzi as well. A portion of the deck has a screened in porch due to the naturally buggy environment since the home is situated in the woods and a low area. A mosquito repellent injection system was incorporated into the irrigation system to help with the bug issue. We improved circulation of the driveway, increased the overall curb appeal of the entrance of the home, and created a scaled and proportional outdoor living environment for the clients to enjoy. The client has religious guidelines that needed to be adhered to with the overall function and design of the landscape, which included an arbor over the deck to support a Sukkah and a Green Egg smoker to cook Kosher foods. Two columns were added at the driveway entrance with lights to help define their driveway entrance since it's the end of a long pipe-stem. New light fixtures were also added to the rear of the house.

Just in Thyme Landscape DesignThis 44' long water feature blends into the woodland setting of this large back yard by starting in the Redwood grove outside the client's bedroom deck, meandering by a fire pit sitting area, and ending in front of their dining patio. It has become the main feature of the yard as it can be heard and seen throughout. It is subtle, yet central. There are three falls and a place to cross from the deck to the fire pit. The water recirculates and is stored in a reservoir underground, eliminating evaporation, algae, and bug issues. The grade of the yard needed to be raised near the Redwood grove to increase the slope of the stream.

Jordan Design Build GroupIn the kitchen, new Shaker style cabinets in a soft gray finish are complemented by quartz countertops with subtle Calacatta Gold veining. We increased functionality by using full overlay cabinets with soft-close doors and full-extension drawers; we added useful accessories such as roll-outs, tray dividers and a trash/recycling center. The new undermount stainless steel sink is a stylish upgrade from the old enameled drop-in sink and the full height textured subway tile is a huge improvement over the old four inch high laminate backsplash. The kitchen pantry received new shelving and the adjacent laundry/utility room even got a facelift with luxury vinyl tile flooring and new paint.

Pineapple House Interior DesignOur client wanted their dream home to be an informal place where they could easily entertain and enjoy themselves. We were awarded the interior design and architectural specification package, which allowed us to recommend substantial alterations prior to construction, including raising the ceiling height, removing walls, reconfiguring rooms and entrances, and specifying appealing ceiling, wall and flooring treatments. In this dining room, we added a partial wall and a dark, wood stained transition arch. The partial wall increases the feel of privacy in the room. We cut wallpaper into squares and turned each square when hanging it, to create a subtle, textured visual effect. Each corner has nail head accents. We added a gothic-inspired valance to the window treatments and integrated the drapery cornices into crown molding. This creates crown molding along the room's perimeter with a flowing, seamless appearance.
