Creating your dream space in a rental home can sometimes feel limiting, but for this project we focused on unlocking colorful possibilities for our clients. Originally, both office spaces were bare and clean but lacked personality. Our goal was to level everything up while injecting more fun and flavor into the office spaces so they had Zoom-friendly backdrops that made them look forward to going into the office each day. Always wanting an island for dining and prep, this homeowner decided it was time to remodel the kitchen. Removing the peninsula made the room more open and airy, and allowed for the island to create a stunning focal point. We saved on budget by refacing the existing cabinets and building a custom island --this allowed room in the budget to upgrade to a marble backsplash--another classic that will remain timeless for decades. Pulling in some neutrals like whites and greys and then injecting her favorite color blue, the kitchen became an extension of her! Quartz countertops in Torquay and classic shaker-style cabinets make this a coastal classic design. The blue is just the cherry on the cake, or should we say blueberry?

With its decorative mouldings and traditional influences throughout the home, this renovation is a classic take on modernism. Approaching the gates to the property, rich red brick surrounds a beautiful traditional white lacquered timber door with lead lite coloured panels on either side. Entering into the home, deep jarrah planked timber floors lead the way through to the kitchen and living areas. The kitchen was small for my client who loved to cook as well as her daughter’s love for baking, needing a re- configure of the space to allow the kitchen to flow and function between the existing kitchen and small meals room. Outdated cabinetry made their home look tired and needed a fresh take on the newly architecturally extended home. Traditional pairings of fresh whites, marbles and glass are delicately detailed within the design, modernising the homes interior. Lacquered chalky slabbed fronts surrounded by marbled benches and splashbacks, the introduction of curves to the isolated hood and island centre piece and depth injected with deep navy to create a monochrome palette. Warmth is then allowed in by brass hardware, reeded glass, a play on texture with tiles and warmly lit surfaces. Now a cook’s kitchen.

"Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" reimagines the traditional dining room as a versatile haven, perfect for year-round conversation and creating a lasting first impression. A lush fiddle fig leaf plant, strategically placed in the space, injected a dose of life and echoed the organic design theme. Respectful of the existing foundation, we integrated the client's existing rug, a statement chandelier, and a captivating wall thread hanging into the new design. To elevate the space further, we introduced custom elements that instilled a sense of unique character. Hand-crafted wood beams and wall trim, reminiscent of a sun-drenched porch, added warmth and architectural interest. Oyster-hued wallpaper on the foyer ceiling provided a bold textural contrast and a touch of coastal sophistication. The added white trim was accentuated, drawing the eye upwards and creating a sense of verticality. The "Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" transcends the limitations of a traditional front room, offering a versatile space that invites relaxation and connection. An entryway colour injection! Stunning oversized wall art sets the colour tone for this area. A beautiful Parsons style brass and concrete console table provide much-needed surface space, enhanced by a large accent starburst mirror. Choosing 12x24 white tiles, placed vertically, crafts continuous lines that pull your gaze upwards, giving your shower a more spacious feel. This arrangement is perfect for achieving a modern, stylish look that's both refined and professional. The understated white tiles act as a brilliant backdrop for the eye-catching black subway tile centerpiece, highlighting the intricate herringbone pattern. The central feature of black subway tiles, arranged in a herringbone pattern, injects a dash of fun sophistication, breaking up any potential monotony with its complex design. This striking contrast not only heightens the visual appeal but also brings a sense of dynamism and depth to the space. The herringbone pattern, renowned for its enduring elegance, ensures your shower stays both fashionable and timeless. The open plan kitchen flows perfectly with the open plan living and dining areas at our Harold Ashwell project. We brought this once dull kitchen to life by injecting a punch of moody charcoal blue in the joinery which is offset by the freshness of the white counter tops. A very important aspect of any kitchen is a fully functional workspace and Cheryl designed a brand new island that encompasses all of that and more. The counter top has a marbled vein and waterfall sides to the floor on either side that wraps up and over the island seamlessly. Seating at the island is ideal for the children to sit at and be a part of the cooking process, as well as to have breakfast or a snack. The black kitchen stools are modern and gives a nod to the other pops of black in this open living space. The pendant lights add warmth and works well with the dining pendants that are in the same area. The touch tip integrated fridge/freezer and wine cooler forms part of the joinery and creates a seamless, stylish look. Carefully selected objet, crockery, appliances and décor makes this kitchen unique to the family who will use it. Cheryl made sure that the kitchen is strikingly beautiful and fits into the style and look of the rest of the living areas, whilst ensuring optimum functionality.

A young family moving from NYC to their first home in Westchester County found this pre-war colonial in Larchmont New York in need of a serious overhaul. After a complete gut job and rework of the entire home, they created a compact, vibrantly colorful kitchen open to the family room. o A nautical indigo color was chosen for the island and tall storage cabinets, with a subtle warm gray on the perimeter o Natural walnut shelving and countertop on the peninsula evoke a mid-century vibe which relates to other vintage furniture pieces in the home o Colorful cement tiles were carried all the way up the counters to inject pattern and whimsy o Brass fixtures and hardware strike a handsome contrast with the deep indigo color scheme.
