The client came to us to transform a room in their new house, with the purpose of entertaining friends. In order to give them the relaxed, airy vibe they were looking for, the original outdated space needed some TLC... starting with a coat of paint. We did a walk through with the client to get a feel for the room we’d be working with, asked the couple to give us some insight into their budget and color and style preferences, and then we got to work!
We created three unique design concepts with their preferences in mind: Beachy, Breezy and Boho. Our client chose concept #2 "Breezy" and we got cranking on the procurement and installation (as in putting together an Ikea table). From designing, editing, and ordering to installing, our process took just a few weeks for this project (most of the lag time spent waiting for furniture to arrive)! And we managed to get the husband's seal of approval, too. Double win.

Here’s a load that just arrived for a deck we’re building locally. Note the grooves on the side of Fiberon’s boards. The grooves allow builders like Deck and Patio to easily install hidden fasteners. This means there will not be any nails or screws showing — just a clean, smooth look.

The owners hired our real estate business to assist them with the sale of this property. The clients were concerned about getting the right price for their home, so they contacted LB LounsBury Group to begin interior and minor exterior renovations to the property in order to increase its value.
When LB LounsBury Group arrived at the Highfield location, the interior had lathe and plaster throughout, knob-tube wiring and old mechanical systems. The flooring was of original hardwood, the back deck was rotting and the front porch and walkway were deteriorating. After removal of all outdated materials and features, walls were reframed and new electrical systems were added. The original heating method for this property was the use of outdated radiators. We then installed new completely new HVAC system throughout the entire home. We added new sub-flooring, hardwood flooring, baseboard and trim. New glass railings were installed to the staircase and to the front of the house, and we built a new deck in the rear of the property. To give it a fresher look, we poured a new walkway and front steps to the house and completed minor landscaping of the front yard. This project was completed in 45 days, from initial meeting to offer date. Upon completion, the property increased in value by 35%.

This Designer Series project was a labor of love. William S has this to say about the project:
"1. The wine racks arrived in relatively undamaged boxes, all wood was in good condition, and the boxes were nicely placed in my garage by the delivery folks. My project was in the basement, so it was easy for me to move them individually from the garage to the project location.
2. As I ordered a number of racks, I also received the compressor and nail gun as a bonus, which I then used for assembly, It made the job very easy and I couldn't imagine anyone doing this with a hammer and nails. As well, I used the nail gun in other areas of my cellar project, so it was a great bonus to have for the entire project.
3. Assembly was easy; but, you needed the right tools. I have a power mitre saw and table saw, so that made the difference for me on some of the trim and detail work. I did manage to make a mistake on one trim corner angle; but, your customer service took care of that and sent me a new piece that I then knew how to do correctly.
4. My project took many steps - from layout, to picking the right look with the wall and ceiling products to support it, the rack assembly and installation, then the final installation with the wine room cooling unit, and then the wine. There are still some things I need to do; but, for now, it is a fully functional wine cellar and I think the racks are wonderful.
The attached pictures take you through my project for a ~250 cu ft cellar - nearly start to finish. Today, the room is holding about 200 bottles (capacity 500) and the room is a solid 55F and 65% RH. The racks are natural and unfinished and I love the smell of the wood and outcome. I may add some additional features down the road."

Designed in 1914 by Wilder and White, Architects, of New York City, the original owner of this property was Dr. William Englesby. In 1956 the house was willed to the University of Vermont. It served as a dormitory for twenty-seven women students until the new president of UVM, John Fey, arrived in 1958 and the university remodeled the house to serve as his residence. It has since been occupied by succeeding UVM presidents. This was an intriguing space to design due to the rarity of such a large garden in the city. We installed a front walk with a ramp from pavers and custom cut bluestone. We carried this look to the back of the house by installing a paver patio with bluestone inlay along with some steps. Colorful plantings completed the area and gave it an elegant feel.

“Our new blinds are lovely and were reasonably priced. Alex did an amazing job. Three times he came to the house and he was always on time. The blinds arrived when he said and the time it took to install them was right around what he said it would. Clearly, he knows his business.
I really admire and appreciate a contractor who can show such value for a client’s time, and not act as if the client had all day or all month for the contractor to complete the work. Sure delays happen, but it’s all to common for a contractor to move at her/his own pace without concern for a client’s inconvenience. Alex really knows his stuff, he gave us good products at a fair price, and was followed up with very timely service.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blinds Northwest to anyone.”

This South Minneapolis family bathroom was pretty groovy before Castle arrived! Old shiny wallpaper, outdated and crumbling tile and an inefficient floor plan were not serving this growing family any longer.
A new floor plan opened up the natural light to the entire bathroom and allowed a much-desired double vanity to be installed. The homeowners wanted direct access from their master bedroom as well, so a new door opening was created for easier access without disturbing the rest of the household.
A bright space was important to the homeowners, so a solar tube was installed with an integral bath fan. The old window was converted to more private glass block, and a wall of mirror was added to reflect natural light throughout the space and to make the space feel bigger. A fresh, transitional color scheme was chosen with timeless materials like marble and white.

When we arrived to this 178 acre farm in Free Union, the invasive species and overgrazing had depleted the soil of all nutrients. There was very little native wildlife. After remediating the soil, installing division fences, waterer systems, and bush hogging the field, the wildlife is starting to come back, and native plants and grasses are rooting. No more weed trees and autumn olives everywhere. This, is a happy field for happy livestock.

The Chivers family was rebuilding their home after it was was destroyed in the unprecedented Alberta flood of 2013. The busy, young family wanted their new home personalized to suit their lifestyle. Storage is an ever-present need for the family of four to keep up with a growing inventory of equipment for sports and activities. To meet these needs, the Chivers chose DIRTT to build their dream kitchen, closets, yoga studio, and efficient laundry room.
ICE software helped the family visualize the space in 3D and understand how their space would look and feel. Using the technology, the Chivers could work with their designer to create the perfect reflection of their lives.
As the DIRTT elements arrived for installation, one family member noted, "this is the first and only thing that's arrived on time on this whole project."

"I now have a beautiful, functional, comfortable bathroom! Kerry Taylor is a perfectionist and he expects the same high standards from those who work for him. The subcontractors he selects are also exacting.
This remodel was started the week before Christmas which meant there were more delays than usual. Plus some of the products to install took longer than expected to arrive to the whole process took about a month, actually not bad considering all the holidays.
I just love my bath and vanity area. When I walk into my master bedroom, it feels like I'm on vacation especially when I'm in my gorgeous shower!"
