The double vanity was reusable with a new coat of enamel - plus new sinks, faucets, countertop, plumbing and electrical. Another important part of this project was installing grab bars that didn't look institutional.

When you have an well-worn 80 year old house, whether its a a city apartment house, a place in the country, or a frat house like this one, what can you keep? What meets modern safety codes? What are the good features of the old place, that are worth the effort of keeping? The daylighting of the the house, especially the stair, was one of the best things in the house. A dormer, side windows, and this lovely arched window originally spilled light from the third floor all the way down through to the basement. You'd think that the one stair in the place would not be worth saving. Eight decades of heavy use by young guys, and stiffer life safety codes! But to our amazement, the original architect had done such a a sensible design, that the stair dimensions, including the baluster spacing, met 21st Century requirements. You can see where some of the replacement balusters of the repairs didn't quite match the old patina. To keep the arched window we needed to add an inner panel of plexiglass and the sprinkler head that shows in this photo. The Pantone Institute has announced the color of the year for 2017. The color shade Greenery has been selected, which is a change from last year's colors: pastel Rose Quartz and Serenity. The selected color in a green tone is vivid and intense and is reminiscent of spring, a time which nature comes back to life. Space enriched with wall murals in Greenery hues will gain good energy and will inspire bold and positive changes.

Awarded by the Classical institute of art and architecture , the linnean house has a restrained and simple elevation of doors and windows. Nestled in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Washington, D.C., the Linnean House is classical in both plan and elevation throughout its award-winning house plans. The main mass, comprising of the most formal and public spaces, is a spatial triptych along a symmetrical main axis. Inside the luxury home, the limestone façade, simple but well-proportioned with classical elements, extends itself into both the entry portico and main foyer with consistent proportions and materiality. This introduction allows the flanking living and dining rooms to be perceived as separate pavilions, each equipped with eight equal-proportioned French doors symmetrical of the main axis. Beyond the classical spaces are two wings which lead to the master suite and a kitchen/family space, respectively. Both of which are situated to queue from the French door axis, a focal feature in the repeatedly published home design. At the entry foyer, the stark stone luxury architecture is warmed by two symmetrical wood armoire-like freestanding sculptural objects, a persistent theme throughout the luxury house. In the kitchen, for instance, stand four similar wood armoire objects at opposite corners that act as columns and help give this space a sense of boundary and enclosure. The master bath vanity, in similar fashion, is introduced as a central free-standing form anchoring itself as a notable presence in the space. Lastly, the wine room is designed as a series of free-standing heavy wood cavity walls spanned only by a hint of glass.

Inspiration for a large victorian beige three-story wood exterior home remodel in Boston

Our professional flooring team was thrilled to work on the prestigious Florida Atlantic University project. We installed custom large-patterned broadloom carpet in the House Chambers, giving new life to the iconic space. The Kaye Auditorium's intricate job involved demolishing the old stage, installing new wood, and finishing it to match the auditorium's stature. In the Banquet Hall, Majestic Palms Ballroom, and Conference Rooms, we used custom carpet tiles in school colors. Outside the Genius Lounge, we installed a complementary stone veneer. Luxury Vinyl Tile was used in the Cavalry and Retail areas. Overall, we installed approximately 2,000 square yards of carpet, 3,500 square feet of vinyl plank, and around 500 square feet of stone veneer, producing a finished product that delighted both us and the client. For this Wychwood Park complete bathroom rebuild, Carter Fox was hired to create a functional, accessible bathroom that did not look institutional or boring. We opened up the original powder room/tub room layout, removing the interior doors to allow adequate space to maneuver, and created a wheelchair-accessible curbless shower room with a second sink (re-purposing the original) at bench height. Completed in 2015, this project incorporates a Scandinavian vibe to enhance the modern architecture and farmhouse details. The vision was to create a balanced and consistent design to reflect clean lines and subtle rustic details, which creates a calm sanctuary. The whole home is not based on a design aesthetic, but rather how someone wants to feel in a space, specifically the feeling of being cozy, calm, and clean. This home is an interpretation of modern design without focusing on one specific genre; it boasts a midcentury master bedroom, stark and minimal bathrooms, an office that doubles as a music den, and modern open concept on the first floor. It’s the winner of the 2017 design award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has been on the Tribeza Home Tour; in addition to being published in numerous magazines such as on the cover of Austin Home as well as Dwell Magazine, the cover of Seasonal Living Magazine, Tribeza, Rue Daily, HGTV, Hunker Home, and other international publications. This one-of-a-kind abstract, mixed media artwork by critically acclaimed artist, Noel Kassewitz, is ready to hang. Quiet Gravitation is the piece that inspired the artist’s series, "They say hope floats, but I’d rather be sure", through which she hopes to increase awareness about rising sea levels. The value of Kassewitz’s work is supported by its exhibition at international galleries and its inclusion in institutional collections, including the University of Maryland. This work is acrylic on hand-woven canvas with a found buoy and net floats and is framed. Its dimensions, framed, are 26 ¾” x 21” (68cm x 53.3cm).
