Nestled within an established west-end enclave, this transformation is both contemporary yet traditional—in keeping with the surrounding neighbourhood's aesthetic. A family home is refreshed with a spacious master suite, large, bright kitchen suitable for both casual gatherings and entertaining, and a sizeable rear addition. The kitchen's crisp, clean palette is the perfect neutral foil for the handmade backsplash, and generous floor-to-ceiling windows provide a vista to the lush green yard and onto the Humber ravine. The rear 2-storey addition is blended seamlessly with the existing home, revealing a new master suite bedroom and sleek ensuite with bold blue tiling. Two additional additional bedrooms were refreshed to update juvenile kids' rooms to more mature finishes and furniture—appropriate for young adults.

We built this bright sitting room directly off the kitchen. The stone accent wall is actually what used to be the outside of the home! The floor is a striking black and white patterned cement tile. The French doors lead out to the patio.
After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel.

The elegant look of grey is hot in kitchen design; a pop of color to base cabinets or center island adds visual interest to your design. This kitchen also features integrated appliances and hidden storage. The open concept floor plan opens up to a breakfast area and butler's pantry. Ceramic subway tile, quartzite countertops and stainless steel appliances provide a sleek finish while the rich stain to the hardwood floors adds warmth to the space. Butler's pantry with walnut top and khaki sideboard with corbel accent bring a touch of drama to the design.

This classical sized LA bathroom is 9' by 4' with a shower stall of 3' by 3'.
The color scheme was to go with whites and gray but with a touch of earth tones coming from the accent Limestone tiles.
to gain additional space we used a 18" deep vanity and a great skirted toileted with 11" rough-in drain.
the floors are white wood look a like ceramic tiles and gray matching wood look a like tile baseboards.
The center piece of the whole bathroom is the shower, using vertical chevron style tile gives the feeling of space and at the same time the chevron shape adds depth.
for the accent of the shower unit we used mosaic 3D shapes of limestone tile and to finish it off a stainless steel hidden drain and a Hansgrohe shower system.

The list was long. Very long. And the level of remodeling they needed was a too demanding for these very capable empty nester DIYers to handle on their own. That’s not surprising since they wanted to remodel their kitchen, living room, entryway, and add a garage/office/bedroom addition off the side of their home.
“I think what was really driving this remodel was the shared desire to liberate this home from its 60’s style (dark paneling) and confined layout,” recalls Murphy Bros. designer Courtney Cartee. “They needed more space everywhere, from the kitchen to the adjoining entryway and living room. In short they really needed a whole new look and layout.”
So we suggested a three-part solution. A completely new kitchen, which required the removal of a giant stone fireplace, that was causing all kinds of space issues in both living room, entry and kitchen.
The second part of the design involved an addition to the side of the property, which added another garage stall and an office/bedroom above. “I can remember going in front of the city hall officials to get approval for the variance to add on the garage addition,” remembers Cartee. “They were very impressed with how our design integrated the addition with the existing exterior of the home. They remarked that so many remodels in their city now are just tear downs instead of taking the time and imagination to work with what’s already there.”
The third aspect of the design had to do with the entry and upgrading the exterior of the home. The entry is now wider and the whole house was painted to achieve much better curb appeal, which can have a big impact on first impressions for resale and simple pride.
“Before they had just enough room for barely two people in their kitchen. I mean it was really tight. Once we got that fireplace out, that opened up everything. Now they can have the whole family in that space and still be able to move around and entertain,” says Cartee.
Island & perimeter countertop: Azure Quartzite slab from Brazil.
Backsplash: Dockside Gale Stria porcelain and glass wall tile

Kitchen – Statement Island with Integrated Storage & Feature Lighting | Toronto
This image highlights the kitchen island as both a design statement and a highly functional workhorse within the open-concept main floor. The island’s scale and proportions were carefully designed to anchor the space while maintaining generous circulation around it.
Above, sleek island light fixtures provide focused task lighting and visual rhythm, helping define the island as a focal point without overpowering the surrounding cabinetry. Their placement was coordinated early in the lighting plan to align precisely with the island’s dimensions and seating layout.
Below the seating overhang, integrated storage is built directly into the island, maximizing functionality without compromising legroom or comfort. This hidden storage is ideal for everyday items—keeping the kitchen organized while preserving its clean, uncluttered appearance.
Together, the island design, lighting, and concealed storage demonstrate Cedarstone Group Inc.’s design-build approach: every element is intentional, multi-functional, and seamlessly integrated, resulting in a kitchen that looks refined and performs effortlessly in daily life.

This Master Bedroom was a complete addition to an existing home, taking the project from the ground up and seamlessly integrating the new space with the original structure.
Our team began by laying the foundation and framing the addition, followed by the installation of drywall, plaster, and exterior stucco.
We also completed all of the electrical work, including the wiring and placement of the room's lighting fixtures before closing up the walls. Once the structure work was completed, we installed medium-toned hardwood flooring, new windows, and a sliding glass door that brings in natural light and provides direct access to the yard.
To complete the space, we added decorative wall sconces, installed elegant wallpaper, and finished the ceiling with a fresh coat of paint.
A beautiful hanging light fixture provides the focal point, creating a warm, artistic, and inviting master bedroom that blends seamlessly with the existing home.

Hall Bathroom
Designed for two growing daughters to share, the hall bathroom balances timeless style with smart functionality. Although the room has just one small window, a carefully curated palette of warm whites, marble, and soft color helps the space feel bright and open.
Traditional details—including wall paneling, marble hex floor tile, pencil trim, and a pedestal sink—give the bathroom classic character while maintaining an airy feel. The same marble flooring continues into the shower to create visual continuity, making the room feel larger and less segmented.
Storage was thoughtfully integrated wherever possible. A recessed built-in cabinet takes advantage of otherwise unused wall space, giving each daughter her own dedicated shelf for everyday essentials. A shallow ledge behind the pedestal sink provides additional storage while helping the room feel more open by aligning the sink wall with the shower enclosure. The finishing touch—a patterned wallpaper added late in the design process—brings warmth, depth, and personality without overwhelming the space.

A custom floating concrete sink features two integrated sinks and an integrated knock out area for additional separated storage. The vanity is surrounded by walnut cabinetry with ample storage. 3D tiles were installed on the vanity wall and suspended over the floating vanity are 4 glass pendants with a metal coral leaf design.

Desiring an oversized traditional yet timeless chef's kitchen, this homeowner turned to Shore & Country Kitchens who took major steps to significantly enlarge it. The renovation required the design team to find a creative way to “bump out” the existing space and create five additional feet to accommodate a massive island.
The island, mantle of the hood, interior of glass hutch cabinet, and floating shelves were finished in Antique Leather on Maple and accented with brushed gold hardware for a warm burnished look. And behind each and every Burlington Recessed Inset cabinet door finished in Alpine White, hides a variety of uniquely Wood-Mode storage ideas. From roll-out storage drawers and a magic corner that provide deeper storage with easier access to items, to Tray Partitions and Peg Drawer to neatly store cooking pans and dishware. To finish off the design, the kitchen features interior cabinet lighting throughout, integrated lighting in floating shelves, and under cabinet integrated lighting, along with glass front upper cabinets, offering a place to show off prized dishware.
