Jarrett DesignWhen a best friend calls to renovate her kitchen, we get extra excited! While many of our projects involve removing walls to create open floor plans, sometimes the biggest impact can come from revising the layout, improving functionality and upgrading finishes. Such was the case at our Devon Lane remodel. Reworking the awkwardly shaped island, eliminating a clunky soffit, relocating the refrigerator to a more accessible location and creating an elegant finish palette were our main goals when we set out to design this space. The work triangle began to evolve, and the outcome provided a large island with seating and a prep sink, ideal for hosting social gatherings. The wine bar, flanked by tall pantries, complements the rest of the kitchen, looking beautiful while providing lots of function. The new professional range and other high-end appliances make preparing meals a pleasure. The fabulous custom hood is a delightful focal point. The glazed ivory cabinets, black antiqued granite, iron light fixtures and hardware, nickel sinks and faucets bring the whole space together with an elevated, traditional feel. Hanging out with our bestie in her lovely home just got even better!

So Cal Builders & DesignThis project involved a complete remodel of the kitchen, guest, and master bathrooms. The updates feature new wood-finished cabinets with recessed panel doors, sleek white quartz countertops with a full backsplash, and a fresh push-in tub with gray tile in the guest bathroom. In the master bathroom, a new walk-in shower was installed to enhance both style and functionality.

Heiser DesignsThis remodel project in Bellevue’s charming Newport Shores neighborhood involved a completely reimagined kitchen and nook. The client’s dreamed of an inviting farmhouse look and desired an open-concept layout where they could cook and entertain, so we created a comprehensive design plan where form meets function.
Built By WadeThis kitchen involved taking two large support poles out and adding an LVL header system in order to open up the space and allow for a large entertaining island.
Landis Architects | BuildersThis 1890 rowhouse had been renovated over time, most recently in the 70s. Our clients wanted to renovate every floor. The floors and walls were out of level, and most of the systems were old. We gutted the structure to the studs, leveled and reframed the walls and floors, added insulation and updated the plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Once the structural and systems work was complete, our crew installed a new expanded kitchen, updated all the bathrooms, and updated the basement.
Reconfiguring the first floor plan involved taking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create one large entertaining space. To bring more natural light and provide sight lines from the front to the back of the rowhouse, we added new windows to the back wall and moved the opening to the other side as a full-light door.
Kitchen features include:
• Cabinetry that extends to the ceiling to maximize storage
• Large island with seating for four
• Painting that imitates the pattern of the ceiling we uncovered during the renovation
• Buffet cabinetry in the dining room with a built-in wine cooler

This massive effort couldn't have succeeded without the contributions of everyone involved, and with a project of this scale it takes the entire team to get every last detail correct from start to finish. I particularly enjoyed the structural feat of making a massive 20' tall load bearing wall completely disappear and then seeing the impact natural light can have in an open area. We love challenges like this one!

The island provides lots of prep space and is large enough to accommodate 4 leather saddle seat barstools.

Zieba Builders, Inc.Our clients are a family with three young kids. They wanted to open up and expand their kitchen so their kids could have space to move around, and it gave our clients the opportunity to keep a close eye on the children during meal preparation and remain involved in their activities. By relocating their laundry room, removing some interior walls, and moving their downstairs bathroom we were able to create a beautiful open space. The LaCantina doors and back patio we installed really open up the space even more and allow for wonderful indoor-outdoor living. Keeping the historic feel of the house was important, so we brought the house into the modern era while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship to preserve the historic ambiance. The bar area with soapstone counters with the warm wood tone of the cabinets and glass on the cabinet doors looks exquisite.
Reico Kitchen & BathDesigned by Lauren Hunt of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Charlotte, NC, this contemporary style kitchen features Ultracraft cabinets in the Acrilux door style in two finishes. The kitchen base cabinets feature an Ultralux Pure White High Gloss finish and the wall cabinets an Ultralux Midnight High Gloss finish. The kitchen countertops are Cambria Portrush and feature a waterfall edge design on each end of the island.
“I love this kitchen,” said Hunt. “Contemporary finishes like acrylics are extremely challenging to work with and can be very unforgiving, but with great risk comes great reward – and this finished project was definitely rewarding.”
“The clients were so fun to work with, and there wasn’t a single aspect of this design that they weren’t involved with. They love to cook, so it was extremely important that the kitchen functioned well with both of them working together while making the most of their storage space.”

The intervention involves the creation of an itinerary in constant dialogue with the topography of the area, that adapts to its natural configuration in such a way as to minimize the environmental and perceptive impact. The frequent alternation of the levels of the ground offered the opportunity to obtain a continuous flat pavement and a small panoramic terrace which is located approximately halfway along the route.
Heiser DesignsThis remodel project in downtown Kirkland involved a totally revamped kitchen, family room, dining room and entry. The new layout opened up the kitchen and family room to create one cohesive entertaining space that the clients were dreaming of. The design theme throughout this project reflects a classic farmhouse style with accents that modernize the spaces that perfectly blend the old with the new.
Four Elements ConstructionA close friend of one of our owners asked for some help, inspiration, and advice in developing an area in the mezzanine level of their commercial office/shop so that they could entertain friends, family, and guests. They wanted a bar area, a poker area, and seating area in a large open lounge space. So although this was not a full-fledged Four Elements project, it involved a Four Elements owner's design ideas and handiwork, a few Four Elements sub-trades, and a lot of personal time to help bring it to fruition. You will recognize similar design themes as used in the Four Elements office like barn-board features, live edge wood counter-tops, and specialty LED lighting seen in many of our projects. And check out the custom poker table and beautiful rope/beam light fixture constructed by our very own Peter Russell. What a beautiful and cozy space!
