A lower level patio allows a lot of flexibility because railing is not required. When an HOA limits a deck size, it can be challenging to come up with a creative design. We fabricated custom benches and flowerboxes to add function and beauty while staying within the confines of the space allowed. Our thanks to D & L Photography for the wonderful pictures.

The original deck railing on this home was made of beautifully turned spindles and newel posts, but was made of Hemlock. That is a good interior-use wood but does not hold up well outdoors. We made exact replicas of the spindles, newels, and rail profile, but made the replacements out of premium clear Cedar. This new rail system should should hold up much better in the long term.

A Northwest classic rail system that really takes advantage of the view. Clear cedar and stainless steel cables were incorporated into the existing structural deck post to complete this project.

This gorgeous lake house deck is adorned with a black aluminum cable railing system and a customer-supplied Tigerwood handrail to match the deck floor. This style of railing works well not to block their incredible view.

We removed our customers old brick paver patio that was failing and upgraded them to a beautiful curved deck. Complete with curved rails and lighting. We used accent colors in the deck board as well as the rails. All rails are Timbertech Radiance Rail (Kona Color) with black aluminum balusters. All decking is Zuri decking (Walnut in color with a Pecan accent).

By using Fiberon composite decking the custom designed multiple level deck harmonizes with the wooded setting by adding the natural hues in the decking while minimizing the rail obstruction with Timbertech composite Builder Rail with Deckorator pickets; all while using low maintenance materials. We replaced the existing deck and added a larger dining area, with a covered seating group centered on a new outdoor gas fireplace. To expand the seating area, the stairs were relocated to the back side of the fireplace. The stone work on the back of the firebox extends to the ground, and is highlighted by the new stair and accent lighting. Other details include picture framed deck and stairs, indirect post lighting, stained bead board ceiling, and a continuous drink rail.
