For this project, we were hired to demo out a concrete patio and gravel area and install beautiful pavers for a great outdoor environment. This family is involved with the Boy Scouts so we installed a fire pit to facilitate great group gatherings. We also noticed they had an outdoor chess set that was sitting on a vinyl board so we recommended built a chess set into the paver patio to give a much nicer, long-lasting solution.

This design involved a renovation and expansion of the existing home. The result is to provide for a multi-generational legacy home. It is used as a communal spot for gathering both family and work associates for retreats. ADA compliant.

The accomplished physician and owner of this 1920’s bungalow wanted to convert a dungeon-like basement into a welcoming guest suite reflecting the home’s Craftsman-style architecture.
The design-build project involved replacing a rickety staircase (see before photo) and creating a separate laundry room, as well as building out a sleeping area, sitting area, and bathroom for guests.
Our solution was to keep the long, narrow guest space open and use a cased opening with columns to mark the separation of sleeping and sitting spaces. The original brick was retained for character around the opening to the hall, where a new stairway and laundry room were located.

This extreme kitchen renovation involved removing many walls to create the open floorplan concept. The old laundry room was walled in approximately where the custom table sits now. A 12' custom patio door was added in place of a 6' window! Cabinetry was designed to precisely fit in this space using lots of drawer banks using no fillers. Shallow storage was built in to the right of the frig. and a 1200cfm hood vented through the roof was meticulously integrated above the slide in range. The laundry room is now hidden by a custom sliding barn door with soft close hardware. All this was done reusing the existing hardwood floors, patching in with new where required!

the project involved taking a hall bath and expanding it into the bonus area above the garage to create a jack and jill bath that connected to a new bedroom with a sitting room. We designed custom vanities for each space, the "Jack" in a wood stain and the "Jill" in a white painted finish. The small blue hexagon ceramic floor tiles connected the two looks as well as the wallpapers in similar coloring.

The project involved a large program that would yield a massive home on a limited and restricted site. The design strategy involved deconstructing the volume into pavilions that could generate a dialogue between built form and landscape and create intimate connections between the golf course and the living spaces.

Lux on the Lake, where the kitchen flows effortlessly into everyday life. The quartzite waterfall island anchors the space with seating for four, while sculptural brass pendants draw the eye upward. Beyond, a sunlit breakfast nook framed by black steel windows invites slow mornings and lingering conversations. White oak, natural stone, and soft leather seating come together in a space designed not just for cooking, but for connection.

Small front parlor designed for owner to comfortably sit and read away from the tv. Owner desired a Parisian feel. We assisted the owner in selecting the furniture and retail window treatments. We painted the walls in a golden stripe consisting of alternating flat and gloss sheen paint of the same color. Owner's lamp, rug, and artwork were repurposed into this room. Owner placed the holiday decorations herself; designer was not involved in this aspect.

The project was a complete rear renovation involving a new swimming pool, patio areas, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, deck renovation, and surrounding landscape, and lighting.
The site was very challenging due to very steep slopes and a limited amount of land area to accomplish the overall goals of the project. Those were lawn areas for the kids to play as well as patio space for entertainment and a swimming pool. Due to county requirements, multiple infiltration trenches were needed to accommodate the Chesapeake Bay ordinances.
