Adding light to the vanity with wall sconces by Visual Comfort and under cabinet lighting which is motion censored, really makes this windowless, attic bathroom just shine. The shower having a slanted wall was a challenge for a shower door. This frameless door really steals the show and is the most functional item in the room.

Here’s what we accomplished (see the photos below): We designed two bar areas for them, using cabinetry from our Countryside Cabinetry line – affordable and attractive. The cabinet doors are the Lancaster style in Birch with a Brownberry stain. We used a combination of flat center panel doors and beaded center panel doors to jazz it up. We also installed brand new Cambria (color Buckingham) on all the countertop surfaces. The homeowners (and all their friends!) love the new basement. And though it seems contrary, we’re not surprised that everyone tells them the room feels so much bigger even though we’ve added cabinetry and countertops to the space – if you use space well a room always seems more inviting. Best of all, this family is finally making great use of their basement!

This homeowner decided to go with Calcatta Laza in the kitchen with a FULL HEIGHT BACKSPLASH! This adds a "wow" statement as soon as you walk in the room. They also used the Laza on their buffet, powder rooms, wine bar, and fireplace hearth. The laundry room and pantry areas feature Cirrus quartz. This homeowner knew exactly how to match the top with their unique and stunning backsplash. Their attention to detail and elegance carries on into the master bath where they used Taj Mahal Quartzite with a mitered edge. Lastly, the upstairs full bath and coffee bar features statuary Classique quartz. We are so happy they let us be a part of this beautiful remodel. It turned out to be absolutely stunning. In this project, Rochman Design Build converted an unfinished basement of a new Ann Arbor home into a stunning home pub and entertaining area, with commercial grade space for the owners' craft brewing passion. The feel is that of a speakeasy as a dark and hidden gem found in prohibition time. The materials include charcoal stained concrete floor, an arched wall veneered with red brick, and an exposed ceiling structure painted black. Bright copper is used as the sparkling gem with a pressed-tin-type ceiling over the bar area, which seats 10, copper bar top and concrete counters. Old style light fixtures with bare Edison bulbs, well placed LED accent lights under the bar top, thick shelves, steel supports and copper rivet connections accent the feel of the 6 active taps old-style pub. Meanwhile, the brewing room is splendidly modern with large scale brewing equipment, commercial ventilation hood, wash down facilities and specialty equipment. A large window allows a full view into the brewing room from the pub sitting area. In addition, the space is large enough to feel cozy enough for 4 around a high-top table or entertain a large gathering of 50. The basement remodel also includes a wine cellar, a guest bathroom and a room that can be used either as guest room or game room, and a storage area.
