We painted all the knotty pine with Behr paint to brighten up the space. We added round windows on either side of the fireplace and replaced the large picture window with casings that could open so we could catch a breeze. Sofa, lamp and curtains from Ikea, mirror and lamp from home decor store, a few pillows from Etsy and craft fairs. The rest of the furnishings and accents are from antique fairs and antique stores in Cannon Beach, Portland and Europe.

Teakwood used natural materials such as pine paneling, rustic knotty alder cabinetry, local rock, Turkish travertine tile, polished river stones and hand-scraped white oak plank flooring to create a clean, spare template that emphasizes the views of the lake. The shake shingles were imported from British Columbia Canada, one of the best and last sources for true redwood cedar. Each shingle was dipped into a sealer before being placed to ensure the exterior’s longevity.

This knotty pine ceiling was lightened with a semi transparent stain. This lightened up the whole room but changed the colors in the whole house. It was an easy fix: we just needed to find a color that had atad of reddish in it to go with the ceiling. The previous wall colors were tan that had a green undertone.
WE also painted the mental of the Fireplace in a dark charcoal to match the fireplace surround.

Reclaimed Wood barn door on sliding track conceals the entry to the bathroom in this guest space. The white painted walls are also reclaimed wood wall paneling, lending texture and warmth to the space. By leaving the ceiling joist open & painting them white, a feeling of openness is accentuated.

Reclaimed Pine Paneling from Manomin Resawn Timbers lines the ceiling of this transitional bedroom, showing off warm honey and amber tones with rich, straight grain running throughout. The paneling brings natural warmth overhead, balancing beautifully against the soft gray walls, brick corner fireplace, and canopy bed below.
