Original home was built in colonial times. The larger red section in the center was an addition. This project added a new master bedroom suite and garage, and a new livingroom area.

This basement renovation was specifically designed to provide additional and more functional entertaining space. We addressed the previous layout, where the old bar somewhat divided the area, by installing a new bar that seamlessly opens up the floor plan, creating a much more inviting space for gatherings.
We also relocated the main gathering area to the larger open section of the basement. This allowed us to incorporate the big screened TV, making it a focal point for entertainment.
The custom-designed built-in shelving unit serves multiple purposes. It cleverly integrates a necessary support beam into the design while also subtly defining the game table area. Furthermore, this piece offers a stylish wine display and includes concealed shelving for convenient storage.

CCI Renovations/North Vancouver/Photos - Luiza Matysiak.
This former bungalow went through a renovation 9 years ago that added a garage and a new kitchen and family room. It did not, however, address the clients need for larger bedrooms, more living space and additional bathrooms. The solution was to rearrange the existing main floor and add a full second floor over the old bungalow section. The result is a significant improvement in the quality, style and functionality of the interior and a more balanced exterior. The use of an open tread walnut staircase with walnut floors and accents throughout the home combined with well-placed accents of rock, wallpaper, light fixtures and paint colors truly transformed the home into a showcase.

Basement - mid-sized transitional walk-out dark wood floor basement idea in DC Metro with gray walls and a tile fireplace

Example of a large transitional open concept dark wood floor family room design in Austin with beige walls, a two-sided fireplace, a stone fireplace and a wall-mounted tv

This back to back book shelf/fireplace wall with the adjacent glass French doors provide a larger transition between the two areas. Moving the fireplace into the wall freed up space from the former free standing fireplace located between the leather sofa and dining table. It also visually increased the entire size of the room.
The sectional sofa provides an area to stretch out and read a good book.

In the main living area, the custom leather sectional offers views for TV watching as well as the city views. Matching swivel chairs add additional viewing options. The wall with the TV and built-ins was modified to take a larger TV and provide more shelves and lighting for family photo’s and accessories.
