Our custom build in a beautiful "Cavalcade" subdivision in west Elgin, IL, a Northwest suburb of Chicago. Started from scratch (after looking at floor plans for years and never finding exactly what we wanted) to create our ideal one-story, 3 BR/2.5 BA home with a very open floor plan and fabulous kitchen with huge island -- ending up around 2.750 sq.ft., plus a full basement w/deep pour and rough-in for full bath, which could almost double the square footage (to over 5,000) if desired. Selected all of the materials, down to every last knob and trim piece so that it is a truly one-of-a-kind home unlike any other. Some favorite special touches are the knotty alder barn door, customized mud/laundry rooms with walk-in closet and dog wash, cedar beams in the family room and painted beams in the vaulted breakfast/sunroom. Can't wait for the nice weather to enjoy the screened-in back porch and deep front porch.

This stunning 4150 sqft home in Porter Ranch underwent a complete remodel, creating a luxurious and family-friendly space perfect for making lasting memories. The design theme focused on blending modern aesthetics with timeless warmth, ensuring both functionality and beauty in every corner.
The crown jewel of this remodel is the high-end chef’s kitchen, featuring custom white oak slim shaker cabinetry painted in black lacquer for a sophisticated and modern look. Dekton Marmorio countertops and backsplash add an elegant, lightweight touch, inspired by the natural stone of Travertino Navona. The kitchen boasts a massive island with waterfall edges, a custom bar area with a pocket door, and top-of-the-line Miele appliances including a 48" rangetop and double dishwashers. Hidden LED strip lights engraved in custom channels add ambient lighting, while trimless outlets maintain a sleek and clean aesthetic.
The primary bedroom’s balcony is finished with smooth stucco and a tiled Ribbonwood wall, while the TV wall features Cardinal Beige Splitface tile and an electric fireplace. In the living room, a custom white oak entertainment wall with asymmetrical shelving and channeled LED lighting creates a striking focal point. Custom floating benches wrapped in Dekton Marmorio stone provide a cozy spot next to the large 3-sided gas fireplace.
In all common areas, trimless recessed lighting with mud-in plates and kerfed door jambs ensure a clean, modern feel. This home remodel perfectly balances warmth, luxury, and modern sophistication.

Wellborn + Wright has teamed up with Richmond native Cobblestone Development Group again for this incredible renovation. What was originally a constricting, one story brick ranch house from the mid 20th century is now a bright, soaring, three story home with a much more open and inviting floor plan. Be sure to flip through the slideshow above to the last 3 pictures which show the “before and after” versions of the kitchen and entryway.
Wellborn + Wright was happy to provide the smooth surface box beams that ran along the ceiling and “sectioned off” the individual living spaces on the first floor – kitchen, living room, dining room – without actually dividing the space itself. A mantle (not shown) and kitchen island counter top made from reclaimed white oak can be found in the kitchen and living room respectively. It should be noted that, while W+ didn’t provide the flooring for this project, what you see here is an exact match to our South Hampton oak flooring – so if you like what you see on the floors just as much as the ceiling, we can definitely help you there!

This charming 1950s Ranch-style home was ready for a fresh update, and we delivered a transformation that blends durability with style.
We replaced the aging vinyl siding with high-quality James Hardie siding, instantly revitalizing the exterior. To enhance functionality and ambiance, we installed soffit lighting, bringing a warm and welcoming glow to the home. Finally, we sealed the entire house and garage with two coats of Sherwin Williams Resilience Paint, ensuring long-lasting protection and a flawless finish.
The patio redesign was a game-changer! The primary L-shaped cover now features a high-pitched ceiling, bridging the space between the house and garage with elegance. To complement this, a smaller secondary cover was designed to house a vintage Bronco in style.
Both covers received matching stained pine beadboard ceilings and rich two-tone stained cedar trim, adding warmth and character. Plus, we installed two ceiling fans on the main cover and can lights on both, creating the perfect blend of comfort and sophistication.

A handy, empty-nester couple, nearing retirement, sold their mansion, and purchased a fixer-upper on a sunlit hillside that features the spectacular ocean view of the Channel Islands.
ENRarchitects was hired to assist with making minor enhancements to the plan, integrating the lower level parking court, and adding a patio deck. The owner, a retiring engineer, took on the responsibilities of general contracting during construction.
Our collaboration included opening the kitchen to the Living-Dining space, so all can enjoy the ocean view. A balcony was added to second floor Master Study, with a new laundry room below it. Both bathrooms were modestly enlarged to provide more spacious showers. Lastly, the Entry Foyer was opened to ceiling height into the Living Room.
In California, ocean views inherently include relentless west sunshine, and formidable interior heat gain. Multiple design studies explored various means to incorporate shading and solar screening measures to permit the view, and to reduce heat gain. Additional studies featured more substantial proposed additions, including a lower level guest suite, and a detached office.
A key feature, is the addition of a raised, covered entry porch, where passengers and goods can be offloaded, prior to parking on the lower level. The new porch also provides a secondary transition around the structure to the ocean view, split-level patio.
A 2nd phase included the suggestion of rebuilding the lower covered parking to include a roof deck, rooftop guest suite, and solar electricity, which was successfully completed. The property is now mildly reminiscent of the Sea Ranch community.
With the blessing of year-round comfortable weather, and ever-changing, dynamic views, the successfully remodeled home takes full advantage for a new generation of colorful living. (photo by owner)
"We are so happy with the results, and proud you’d include our place in your client list.
We are extremely happy and will always tout your skills."

The finished exterior after the mold and leaking window were repaired. Sara rebuilt the wall with brick and mortar matched to the original so the masonry repair blends into the facade and is not visible from the street. Sealing out future water intrusion is part of a bathroom remodel that lasts.

Stucco siding was a great choice by the homeowners to hold up to weather extremes for the ‘house on a hill.’ Choosing the right finish would help the stucco last many years, in spite of the abundance of exposure.
After spending some time researching the products that suit our unique Central Coast weather and climate conditions, we settled on a Frazee elastomeric finish, which is designed to stretch and contract with the surface it is applied to. The mid-tone color integrates seamlessly with the natural surrounding landscape, along with the installed hardscape stonework.
