In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. We converted an underused back yard into a modern outdoor living space. Functions include a cedar soaking tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, and dining area. The Barbara Barry dressing table was an existing piece that inspired the overall design concept. Note the wallpapered ceiling detail which brings your eye upwards, creating an extra layer that is like a lid to a jewelry box.
