The best of past and present architectural styles combine in this welcoming, farmhouse-inspired design. Clad in low-maintenance siding, the distinctive exterior has plenty of street appeal, with its columned porch, multiple gables, shutters and interesting roof lines. Other exterior highlights included trusses over the garage doors, horizontal lap siding and brick and stone accents. The interior is equally impressive, with an open floor plan that accommodates today’s family and modern lifestyles. An eight-foot covered porch leads into a large foyer and a powder room. Beyond, the spacious first floor includes more than 2,000 square feet, with one side dominated by public spaces that include a large open living room, centrally located kitchen with a large island that seats six and a u-shaped counter plan, formal dining area that seats eight for holidays and special occasions and a convenient laundry and mud room. The left side of the floor plan contains the serene master suite, with an oversized master bath, large walk-in closet and 16 by 18-foot master bedroom that includes a large picture window that lets in maximum light and is perfect for capturing nearby views. Relax with a cup of morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the nearby covered patio, which can be accessed from both the living room and the master bedroom. Upstairs, an additional 900 square feet includes two 11 by 14-foot upper bedrooms with bath and closet and a an approximately 700 square foot guest suite over the garage that includes a relaxing sitting area, galley kitchen and bath, perfect for guests or in-laws.

Thanks to recently-passed state and local laws, it is easier for Californians to add a detached structure to their property. Known as Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), these structures are becoming a popular choice for on-site caregivers, housing for family members, and for short- or long-term rentals.
Designing and building an Accessory Dwelling Unit is a large, complex investment. You need someone who knows the ADU laws and has expertise in designing and installing smaller structures.
Here at Backyard Unlimited, we have spent the last decade installing hundreds of accessory structures throughout California. Our team knows the ADU laws and what it takes to get them permitted and approved. We only use our own employees to design, assemble, and finish our structures. It’s not surprising that discerning property owners choose Backyard Unlimited as their ADU design/build contractor.

The kitchen is splendid with knotty alder custom cabinets, handmade peeled bark legs were crafted to support the chiseled edge granite. A hammered copper farm sink compliments the custom copper range hood while the slate backsplash adds color. Barstools from Old Hickory, also with peeled bark frames are upholstered in a casual red and gold fabric back with brown leather seats. A vintage Persian runner is between the range and sink to effortlessly blend all the colors together.

Our carpenters labored every detail from chainsaws to the finest of chisels and brad nails to achieve this eclectic industrial design. This project was not about just putting two things together, it was about coming up with the best solutions to accomplish the overall vision. A true meeting of the minds was required around every turn to achieve "rough" in its most luxurious state.
Featuring: Floating vanity, rough cut wood top, beautiful accent mirror and Porcelanosa wood grain tile as flooring and backsplashes.

Small #fishpond with crystal clear water, #waterfalls, pond plants, #LED lighting, pond filtration, fish cave created for a family in #Webster,NY. Here is what they had to say:
I am retired and went to live with my son and daughter-in-law. After I sold my house, I missed the homemade pond that I had at my house. My son & daughter-in-law said I could put in a pond as long as it was done professionally. I researched pond builders and settled on Acorn. They seemed the most professional and knew a great deal about ponds.
My pond and waterfall were installed in a timely manner. The workers worked quickly, quietly and efficiently. Tom had suggested a different spot than the one we thought of. He made a lot of sense and we built the pond close to my entrance. The workers were done in three days and picked up after themselves and did not leave any messes for us. Acorn was very helpful in suggested where to put the electricity.
The entire family is enjoying the pond! The waterfall is very calming. The kids and I have enjoyed stocking and feeding the fish. The grandkids show their friends the pond. The pond has attracted a tiny frog which has stayed with us. Also, birds have come. I especially enjoyed a yellow finch which has come to drink from my feeder and also drank from the waterfalls. I know we will enjoy this pond for many years to come.

Via our website ~ "The Gibraltar Cabin is a clever little cabin design that includes a porch, an interior space and a very attractive eye-catching barrel arch at the entrance. The single door is complimented by an additional five foot wide double door on the gable end. The elegant country charm is achieved with the large barn sash windows and rustic board and batten siding and is protected by a green corrugated metal roof.
The post and beam frame makes this cabin a strong backyard out-building. A sturdy interior work bench has also been included. This rugged and attractive design is beautiful from the front view. This versatile cabin design can be configured for many uses. It will make a perfect cabin, tiny house, getaway retreat, art studio, home office, garden or potting shed, kids playhouse, a pool house. Fitted with large double doors, the Gibraltar Cabin is very capable of handling all your storage needs and will compliment your outdoor living space.
Any of our buildings can be customized to fit all of your needs. We offer insulation, plumbing and electrical packages; alternative choices for roofing, siding, flooring, windows, and doors; and other custom options such as built-in storage, decorative arches, cupolas, painting, staining, and flower boxes."

Excerpt via our website ~ "While originally designed as a Pond House, this beautiful Cabin has an endless array of uses. With a 10×16 floor plan, this cabin can be a potting shed for your garden, a child’s playhouse, a space to watch the sunset or just a place to sit by the pond. Here at the Jamaica Cottage Shop we feel that our Cabins are an asset to any landscape. With an array of available options, these cabins can compliment any property as a combination guest house, meditation room, nature observation area, yoga studio, and sometimes, a study."
Available as diy plans ($50), cabin kits (estimated assembly time - 2 people, 20 hours), or fully assembled.

The in-law suite kitchen could only be in a small corner of the basement. The kitchen design started with the question: how small can this kitchen be? The compact layout was designed to provide generous counter space, comfortable walking clearances, and abundant storage. The bold colors and fun patterns anchored by the warmth of the dark wood flooring create a happy and invigorating space.
