When this beautiful Boulder home was built in 2010 it had CertainTeed fiber cement siding installed. Unfortunately that siding product has been failing on homes after installation. In fact, any home built before 2013 with CertainTeed fiber cement siding will have faulty siding installed. In fact there is a class-action lawsuit many homeowners across the country have been a part of. The homeowner needed a full replacement of all the lap siding all around the home. He was referred to Colorado Siding Repair from his neighbor who had completed a siding project with us in 2017.
Colorado Siding Repair replaced the old siding with James Hardie fiber cement with ColorPlus technology in Cobblestone. We also painted the shake siding, soffits, fascia, and gutters to create a seamless update to this already stunning home. This home now has a factory finish 15-year warranty with James Hardie. The siding should last even longer than that! How do you think this house turned out?

Photo of a kitchen renovation feature cabinets finished in Black Licorice and Pure White lacquer. The cabinets are oversized and conceal the appliances with finished wood panels. Unique features include a wall of natural leuders veneer stone with a custom floating ventilation system as a main focal point. Complementing the cabinets are countertops of Satin Cambrian black granite and Honed Calcatta Colorado Marble. Custom hewn wood beams and hand scraped flooring warm the rooms feel against the cool gray walls. Designed and constructed by USI in Southlake Tx.

Our clients requested a dramatic, yet classy look for their master and guest bathroom remodels. The clients desperately needed more storage space and wanted to maximize functionality. We were excited to share our ideas and design a timeless look that the clients could enjoy for many years.
Our clients wanted the look of marble, without the maintenance of natural stone, in addition to a bold contrasting element within this space. The goal was to use similar materials throughout, but implement various patterns and textures to create a visual flow from one area to the next. To maximize storage and propose a contrasting element, we designed the cabinetry using maple cabinets with an Onyx finish for a classic look. Outback granite countertops were fabricated for the vanities. We installed the same granite on the tub deck and within the shower to create a smooth visual flow. The cabinet finish allowed the natural light from the window to provide colorful dimension to the overall look of the cabinets.
The shower is wrapped in breathtaking porcelain slabs intended to look like marble, and provide little to no maintenance. We addressed safety by incorporating sleek grab bars near the entry of the shower and on the back wall near the shower head.

Massaro House is a U.S. residence inspired by designs of a never-constructed project conceived by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It is located on the privately owned Petre Island (sometimes spelled Petra Island) in Lake Mahopac, New York, and is named for its owner, Joseph Massaro
In 1949, Wright received a commission from an engineer named A. K. Chahroudi to build a house on the 10-acre Petre Island, which Chahroudi owned. Chahroudi would later state that during a lunch meeting he had with Wright and Edgar Kaufmann, the owner of Wright’s celebrated Fallingwater, the architect told Kaufmann: "When I finish the house on the island, it will surpass your Fallingwater"
Wright worked on designing a one-story, 5,000-square-foot house for three months, but the project was cancelled when Chahroudi realized he was not able to afford the $50,000 budget that Wright envisioned for the project, nor a second more modest version requested of Wright. Instead, Wright designed a 1,200-square-foot cottage for Chahroudi for the island.
In 1996, Petre Island was purchased for $700,000 by Joseph Massaro, a sheet metal contractor.Though he had seen the original Wright drawings for the main home years earlier, he initially intended merely to restore the island’s guest cottage. Massaro received those renderings as part of the purchase of the island.
Massaro sold his sheet metal business in 2000 to focus on the creation of the house, the construction phase of which took place between 2003 and 2007.
All that survived of the original Chahroudi commission were five Wright drawings, including a floor plan with ideas for built-in and stand-alone furniture, a building section, and three elevations. Massaro hired Thomas A. Heinz, an architect and Wright historian, to complete the unfinished design.
Heinz employed 3D CAD/CAM computer softwareto model aspects of Wright's design not self-evident in the original renderings. His design also provided updated heating and cooling solutions that were not part of the original Wright concept, such as air conditioning and radiant heating. It was also determined to add Chimney King Decorative Chimney Shrouds for the homes six fireplaces.
In common with Fallingwater, the house’s design does not merely accommodate but actually incorporates the island’s topography. A 12-foot high, 60-foot long rock forms the exterior to the entry and an interior wall, while a smaller rock doubles as a kitchen and bathroom wall. Again, like Fallingwater's signature terraces, the house features a cantilevered deck that stretches 25 feet over Lake Mahopac. Its 18-foot high living area is illuminated with 26 triangular skylights.
Throughout the construction, Massaro was in conflict with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, which was established by the architect in 1940 to conserve his intellectual property. Massaro told interviewers that the foundation requested $450,000 to render working drawings from Wright's sketches and supervise construction of the house. After Massaro hired Heinz, the foundation filed a lawsuit, which ended in a settlement that limited Massaro to referring to the structure as being "inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright".
To date, the foundation refuses to recognize Massaro House as an official Frank Lloyd Wright creation. Philip Allsopp, the foundation’s chief executive office, has stated: “It’s not a Frank Lloyd Wright house, because it hasn’t been certified by the foundation.”
Yet in the Los Angeles Times, Massaro defended the Wright connection. “You hear these purists that talk about how no unbuilt Frank Lloyd Wright house should ever be built because Frank Lloyd Wright isn’t here anymore,” he said. “And then you take a look at this masterpiece of his –I’m sure Frank would rather have it built than not built at all.

JAMES DEWULF’S NEW
PING PONG DINING TABLE
RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS
Creating “Sleekness” And “Hip”
With Industrial Material
(Santa Monica, CA) James DeWulf, known for his creativity of design and innovation with raw materials, introduced several stunning new products and designs at ICFF. All were typical of DeWulf’s innovative work - original, chic, and cool, but the product that grabbed everyone’s attention and stole the show was DeWulf’s new Ping Pong Dining Table.
Made to regulation size, the Ping Pong table dimensions are 9’ by 5’ by 30”. The new dining table can actually be used for Ping Pong with acid etched lines that will last as long as the table and a smooth surface that provides a great “bounce”. The table is also ideal for outdoor use because the components are impervious to moisture, salt air and freeze thaw cycles. Many still expressed a preference to use the table indoors because of its clean, simple, and beautiful lines.
The table is defined by its top which appears to float above the legs. Incredibly thin at one inch, the table top is the culmination of all of DeWulf’s expertise in working with concrete compounds. To put this in perspective, normal concrete would have to be nearly nine inches in thickness to achieve the same strength and durability of the one inch top that DeWulf has developed for this table.
Like all DeWulf’s creations, the Ping Pong Dining Table exemplifies his passion for producing finishes that feel both organic and luxurious. The pigment is mixed throughout the concrete assuring color that never fades or wears. While the surface is hand finished several times to create a smooth buttery feel that people cannot resist touching.
The Ping Pong Dining Table is a masterpiece of technology and art. “The goal was to make something simple and beautiful”, says DeWulf. “To achieve such large flat slabs and have them be so thin is a first for me. Integrity and proportion lead the design. There is nothing unnecessary.” For more information on DeWulf Concrete, its products and its designs, go to www.jamesdewulf.com.
