Our socially engaged, active client transplanted from the East Coast found a charming older home in Minneapolis that provided a home base in a new city. While the home had its charm, the dark interior didn’t provide the uplifting respite she desired. With a busy travel schedule and calendar full of after-hours social events, she was looking for a space to unwind at the end of a long day. She wanted to maximize her time at home, and a place to host friends pre-gala. We transformed an extra bedroom into a happy-hour type lounge with upholstered chairs and bar cart along with her Grandmother’s vanity and privacy screen for the ultimate pre-gala experience. In the kitchen, we replaced the dark cabinetry with open painted shelves to lighten the space and provide convenient access to her glassware, adding sparkle to the room. Our client was having trouble finding an aesthetic flow for this home, as she had both traditional, cultural, and contemporary pieces. We were hired to bring the whole space together, incorporating new furnishings with her existing ones - a fun but also delicate task, as the client had a bad experience with a previous designer. Because the home itself is so beautiful, we worked on creating a cohesive design and flow through incorporating custom textiles. By reupholstering furniture and finding the perfect throw pillows, we were able to keep new pieces at a minimal (only adding a few newly bought furnishings here and there), showcase her extensive art collection, and make her current furnishings stand out for their traditional beauty while keeping them updated and current with the newer pieces. Project designed by Atlanta interior design firm, VRA Interiors. They serve the entire Atlanta metropolitan area including Buckhead, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Cobb County, and North Fulton County. This project presents a modern bright room. The decoration of the wall with brick white masonry immediately attracts attention. Its texture looks attractive and original. The brick wall harmonizes perfectly with the laminate. White colors in the interior connect the space into a spacious, light area. The furniture is modern and laconic. White sofa with dark cushions, it is a balance of light and contrasting colors for a harmonious experience. A white wardrobe complements the necessary furnishings of the room. The high mirror stands directly on the floor, emphasizing the audacious character of the interior. A bright accent in the decor can be seen in the chandelier in the urban style.
