Inspiration for a transitional bathroom remodel in Montreal

Inspiration for a mid-sized industrial u-shaped ceramic tile kitchen remodel in Milan with a single-bowl sink, flat-panel cabinets, stainless steel appliances, no island and marble countertops

Creating spaces that make connections between the indoors and out, while making the most of the panoramic lake views and lush landscape that surround were two key goals of this seasonal home’s design. Central entrance into the residence brings you to an open dining and lounge space, with natural light flooding in through rooftop skylights. Soaring ceilings and subdued color palettes give the adjacent kitchen and living room an airy and expansive feeling, while the large, sliding glass doors and picture windows bring the warmth of the outdoors in. The family room, located in one of the two zinc-clad connector spaces, offers a more intimate lounge area and leads into the master suite wing, complete with vaulted ceilings and sleek lines. Three additional guest suites can be found in the opposite wing of the home, providing ideally separate living spaces for a multi-generational family. Every inch of the inside and outside living areas are reconceived in this full house and guest-house renovation in Berkeley. In the main house the entire floor plan is flipped to re-orient public and private areas, with the formerly small, chopped up spaces opened and integrated with their surroundings. The studio, previously a deteriorating garage, is transformed into a clean and cozy space with an outdoor area of its own. A palette of screen walls, corten steel, stucco and concrete connect the materials and forms of the two spaces. This French guest bath/powder room shows how various shades of gray can add appeal without looking drab. The soft gray wall color is picked up by the mat in the etching. The darker charcoal strokes of the sketch complements the contrasting Winckelmans Pearl Gray and Anthracite floor tiles. Polished Nickel fixtures and accessories add sparkle and shine. There's even a nice selection of reading matter for the guests!
