An outdated 1960’s home with smaller rooms typical of this period was completely transformed into a timeless lakefront retreat that embraces the client’s traditions and memories. Anchoring it firmly in the present are modern appliances, extensive use of natural light, and a restructured floor plan that appears both spacious and intimate.

This shower has large format glass tiles as a feature wall in combination with metalic glazed porcelain tile, in a coppery finish, to create a transitional feel. It balances between modern finishes and old world detail to create a beautiful partnership. The flooring for the main bath area is porcelain tile with a durable double load finish.

Eichler in Marinwood - At the larger scale of the property existed a desire to soften and deepen the engagement between the house and the street frontage. As such, the landscaping palette consists of textures chosen for subtlety and granularity. Spaces are layered by way of planting, diaphanous fencing and lighting. The interior engages the front of the house by the insertion of a floor to ceiling glazing at the dining room. Jog-in path from street to house maintains a sense of privacy and sequential unveiling of interior/private spaces. This light and airy kitchen combines traditional accents with transitional ones. Black honed granite counter tops are balanced by dark accents through out the space like the slat-back island stools, lantern pendant fixtures above, and bronze hardware on doors. The light stone on the kitchen island work beautifully with white cabinets, Nickel pulls, and Nickel plumbing fixtures. The kitchen's honed stone counter top is repeated at the pass-through to the dining room. The counter top is supported by curvy decorative brackets that are a great balance to the rectilinear characteristics of the shaker style kitchen cabinets. Architectural millwork and column at Dining Room entry add a traditional element to this relaxed space. The combinations of all these finishes bring personalty and warmth to the home.
