This long-term client needed basic repair and painting of all trim, doors etc...The main issue was a water leak that went from the second to first floor. Guests frequently commented on the issue.The client asked what could be done and I suggested repainting the pattern of the wallpaper where there was staining from the water leak. She was amazed that was possible. This fix would save her considerable time, disruption and money that removing all the paper. She was in love with the paper for many years. Great success and wonderful fix for a difficult problem.

A bold, black basalt tile backsplash folds up the wall and onto the ceiling, and is punctuated by three walnut boxes that house pendant lights over the island and store kitchenware near the main prep space. This traditional 1980's Texas kitchen was not only in need of a face lift, but was also in need of minor rearranging. The main issues were too many appliances jammed into one area and the homeowner needed to incorporate a home office into the kitchen as well. In order to keep a double oven, increase workspace, and allow for more food storage, we suggested replacing all the existing appliances with a 48" range, 42" built-in refrigerator, and built-in microwave. We also removed the peninsula and continued cabinets towards the breakfast area which opened up the kitchen to the eating area. We elongated the island adding more usable storage and working space, leaving open area on the end for seating. Lastly we integrated an office workspace by lowering the countertop, creating a seating area, and space for a pull out printer.

Home theater refresh. This one brought several challenges. Acoustics was a main issue we had to resolve. We decided to build the video wall with an inset screen, There's also a few more speakers hidden behold that acoustically transparent screen. Soon we'll be upgrading the movie posters to high end Samsung digital displays which we'll automate for control during movie On (Lim lights, kil some, set volume, and . This client’s house had great bones to work with, but also had a few things that made their kitchen less functional. Their main issue with the space was that their cooktop was located on the island, and since the island wasn’t very big, it limited the amount of usable counterspace. Also, they had a microwave oven stack that was housed in a massive brick enclosure that also took up a lot of valuable space. In our design, we decided to replace the cooktop and oven with a gas range and relocated it to the back wall on the L. We also move the refrigerator to the wall opposite of the sink to create the perfect working triangle. All of the cabinetry to the right of the range serves as a dry bar with lots of storage including nice display storage for wine. Originally the house had a butler’s pass between the dining room and kitchen. We decided to transform this space by closing it in on both sides and creating a nice walk-in pantry, something the kitchen did not have before! We extended their island and added space for seating on one side. The kitchen has a beautiful vaulted ceiling that we added a beam to across the center. For materials, we chose a white and grey palette with some blue and wood tones. The backsplash is a beautiful marble mosaic with blue and grey. The countertops are luna plena quartzite, and we incorporated a custom wood wrap around the hood to match the beams. We are thrilled with how we were able to help transform this kitchen into a beautiful functional space.
