A nature-inspired palette of blue and green signals the transition from the kitchen into the main play space while maintaining a harmonious environment of cool tones throughout the home.

This residence at Oak Alley masterfully blends feminine grace with masculine strength to achieve a modern, ethereal aesthetic. Soft, flowing textiles and delicate lighting elements contrast with strong, clean lines and bold materials, creating a harmonious space that feels both grounded and airy. The design embraces a palette of muted tones and natural textures, invoking a sense of calm while maintaining a sophisticated edge. The result is a home that perfectly balances opposites, offering a serene yet dynamic living environment.

The comfortable elegance of this French-Country inspired home belies the challenges faced during its conception. The beautiful, wooded site was steeply sloped requiring study of the location, grading, approach, yard and views from and to the rolling Pennsylvania countryside. The client desired an old world look and feel, requiring a sensitive approach to the extensive program. Large, modern spaces could not add bulk to the interior or exterior. Furthermore, it was critical to balance voluminous spaces designed for entertainment with more intimate settings for daily living while maintaining harmonic flow throughout.
The result home is wide, approached by a winding drive terminating at a prominent facade embracing the motor court. Stone walls feather grade to the front façade, beginning the masonry theme dressing the structure. A second theme of true Pennsylvania timber-framing is also introduced on the exterior and is subsequently revealed in the formal Great and Dining rooms. Timber-framing adds drama, scales down volume, and adds the warmth of natural hand-wrought materials. The Great Room is literal and figurative center of this master down home, separating casual living areas from the elaborate master suite. The lower level accommodates casual entertaining and an office suite with compelling views. The rear yard, cut from the hillside, is a composition of natural and architectural elements with timber framed porches and terraces accessed from nearly every interior space flowing to a hillside of boulders and waterfalls.
The result is a naturally set, livable, truly harmonious, new home radiating old world elegance. This home is powered by a geothermal heating and cooling system and state of the art electronic controls and monitoring systems.

The console's organic silhouette and jagged edges create a harmonious contrast with its luxurious interior. A sumptuous drawer, adorned with a delicate brass handle, offers a discreet storage solution while maintaining the console's elegant aesthetic.
The Lapiaz Console stands as a testament to Boca do Lobo's commitment to pushing the boundaries of design. The fusion of organic elements with impeccable craftsmanship results in a truly one-of-a-kind piece that transcends trends and time.

With adjacent neighbors within a fairly dense section of Paradise Valley, Arizona, C.P. Drewett sought to provide a tranquil retreat for a new-to-the-Valley surgeon and his family who were seeking the modernism they loved though had never lived in. With a goal of consuming all possible site lines and views while maintaining autonomy, a portion of the house — including the entry, office, and master bedroom wing — is subterranean. This subterranean nature of the home provides interior grandeur for guests but offers a welcoming and humble approach, fully satisfying the clients requests.
While the lot has an east-west orientation, the home was designed to capture mainly north and south light which is more desirable and soothing. The architecture’s interior loftiness is created with overlapping, undulating planes of plaster, glass, and steel. The woven nature of horizontal planes throughout the living spaces provides an uplifting sense, inviting a symphony of light to enter the space. The more voluminous public spaces are comprised of stone-clad massing elements which convert into a desert pavilion embracing the outdoor spaces. Every room opens to exterior spaces providing a dramatic embrace of home to natural environment.
Grand Award winner for Best Interior Design of a Custom Home
The material palette began with a rich, tonal, large-format Quartzite stone cladding. The stone’s tones gaveforth the rest of the material palette including a champagne-colored metal fascia, a tonal stucco system, and ceilings clad with hemlock, a tight-grained but softer wood that was tonally perfect with the rest of the materials. The interior case goods and wood-wrapped openings further contribute to the tonal harmony of architecture and materials.

This one was for their son's room, and it transformed the space, replacing a pair of rickety bifold doors and some shelving from a big box store with a sleek, custom solution.
For consistency and to maintain the house's aesthetic appeal, we used the same Panolam Flawless in Sapphire Blue to laminate the doors, just as in the other rooms. This not only creates a harmonious look throughout the house but also ensures that the wardrobe blends seamlessly with the overall design. The cabinetry features adjustable shelving and clothes rods, all designed to meet the specific needs of our client's son.

Living room - transitional dark wood floor and black floor living room idea in San Francisco with white walls, a standard fireplace and no tv

Given the open kitchen layout, the new walk-in pantry offers extensive storage, space for small tasks, and even a convenient coffee bar—a delightful spot for preparing school lunches. To maintain a harmonious aesthetic, the entire pantry can be discreetly closed off with custom barn doors that beautifully complement the kitchen cabinetry.

The primary goal for this project was to craft a modernist derivation of pueblo architecture. Set into a heavily laden boulder hillside, the design also reflects the nature of the stacked boulder formations. The site, located near local landmark Pinnacle Peak, offered breathtaking views which were largely upward, making proximity an issue. Maintaining southwest fenestration protection and maximizing views created the primary design constraint. The views are maximized with careful orientation, exacting overhangs, and wing wall locations. The overhangs intertwine and undulate with alternating materials stacking to reinforce the boulder strewn backdrop. The elegant material palette and siting allow for great harmony with the native desert.
The Elegant Modern at Estancia was the collaboration of many of the Valley's finest luxury home specialists. Interiors guru David Michael Miller contributed elegance and refinement in every detail. Landscape architect Russ Greey of Greey | Pickett contributed a landscape design that not only complimented the architecture, but nestled into the surrounding desert as if always a part of it. And contractor Manship Builders -- Jim Manship and project manager Mark Laidlaw -- brought precision and skill to the construction of what architect C.P. Drewett described as "a watch."

The Winding River Farmhouse New Build expands on the defining elements of the American Farmhouse. Designed from the ground up, this new build project will maintain traditional farmhouse features in an expanded symmetrical footprint.
The symmetry of Winding River belies its size – while the home is nearly 5000 square feet, clean lines and harmonious proportions keep the house from feeling overwhelming, something that was very important to the home owner. The home also includes a large bluestone patio for outdoor gathering, along with a conditioned screened porch that sits adjacent to the swimming pool.

The Amond table stems from the designer Gino Carollo's desire to create a strong contrast between the base and the table top, while still retaining a great sense of formal and aesthetic balance. The contrast between the extra thick table top and the base, which is characterized by the absence of filled volumes, creates the illusion of a suspended table top, while at the same time maintaining perfect harmony.
