Our clients wanted to increase the size of their shower, omit their whirlpool tub and make better use of the open floor space in their master bathroom. Designer Barbara Bircher, CKD, moved and removed walls to open up the master bath and enlarge the master closet. Pocket doors were used to eliminate door interference with storage accessibility.
Barbara created two separate vanity stations for him and her. Rotating the toilet created a more spacious water closet concept while maintaining privacy. The shower was relocated and enlarged to include a bench, which continues under the window and houses individual hampers drawers. This new design included a linen closet tucked in nicely behind the shower. For those of you who are on the fence about removing a whirlpool tub, Steve and Mindy both agree they do not miss their whirlpool tub in any way!!

Vanity counter and 6" backsplash is Pental Quartz in Sparkling White. Undermount sinks are from the Kohler Caxton collection and the wall mounted faucets are from Brizo in brushed nickel.

The herringbone tiled floor is from the Nest Meditative collection from United Tile, 3x15", in an olive finish. Base throughout the bathroom is from the same collection but in the 6x36" size.
Towel rings, bars (shown in mirror) and towel hook are from the Brizo Virage collection in brushed nickel.
The walk in shower mirrors the look of the wall behind the freestanding tub, utilizing the Bedrosians Winter Blanco 8x24" tiles and an accent band of the Aria Mini Circle Sparkling Glacier mosaic.
Shower bench (bottom left) matches the vanity counter: Pental Quartz in Sparkling White. All shower fixtures are from the Brizo Virage collection in brushed nickel.
Wall color in the bathroom is "Delft" by Sherwin Williams.

Sometimes simplicity is all you need. This Colonial Base can also be used as your casing, which would create even more of a fluidity between your rooms.

If you're having trouble deciding on what is the right amount of masculine for a couple's master bath, look no further. This bathroom renovation that we worked on with Slotegraaf Construction is a fantastic specimen for looking at how you can balance masculine and calming interiors.
With a double sided fireplace you can always feel the cozy warmth in both sections of the room, and when you cover it in some gorgeous ledge stone can always experience the rustic feel of raw stone. Covering the entire back wall where the sinks and cabinetry are reflects that same feeling each morning and night.
The soft yellow hue of this master bath is quite different from the designer grays of recent and it's actually quite a nice change of pace. Bathrooms are pretty fun places for you to spice up the color in your home and this one has done a great job of that. The ultra creamy porcelain tile on the floor (which carries into the bathroom) is in a matte finish and it really yellows up the room in a very classy way. Especially when it comes to transitioning from the hardwood in the master bedroom to the tile of the master bath, an excellent job has been done here in marrying up two very complimentary colors.
