We worked with internationally renowned architect Will Bruder on the initial design on the home. The goal of home was to build a modern hillside home which made the most of the vista upon which it sat. A few ways we were able to achieve this were the unique, floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the side of the property overlooking Scottsdale, a private courtyard off the master bedroom and bathroom, and a custom commissioned sculpture Mayme Kratz. Stonecreek's particular role in the project were to work alongside both the clients and the architect to make sure we were able to perfectly execute on the vision and design of the project. A very unique component of this house is how truly custom every feature is, all the way from the window systems and the bathtubs all the way down to the door handles and other features.

Dramatic modern addition to a 1950's colonial. The project program was to include a Great Room and first floor Master Suite. While the existing home was traditional in many of its components, the new addition was to be modern in design, spacious, open, lots of natural light, and bring the outside in. The new addition has 10’ ceilings. A sloped light monitor extends the height of the Great Room to a 13’+ ceiling over the great room, 8’ doors, walls of glass, minimalist detailing and neutral colors. Overlooking Semiamhoo Bay, Galadriel is a refined, modern home with the warmth and strength inherently found in West Coast architecture. Textures of natural stone, Douglas fir, glass and steel unify the interior with its geographical setting - surrounded by evergreens and unrestricted views of the ocean. The entrance to the home is accessed by a crossing above a reflecting pool, in which sits a stunning and solitary bonsai which is illuminated from above through an oculus in the roof’s overhang. Expansive outdoor spaces featuring fire features and seating areas are connected by a curved metal staircase set over a blackened steel reflecting pool, adding a graphic element to the rear of the home. Clerestory glazing in an elevated roof area offers an opening into the tree canopy towards the front of the property and allows light to permeate the interior of the home, while full height windows throughout maximize the impressive views. Living spaces throughout provide ample room for entertaining and comfort. Creativity is shown in the many colourful and whimsical accents. The master bedroom features two ensuite baths - a unique request that makes good sense for the owners. Spaces for work, writing and art were given priority reflecting the values and livelihood of our clients. Projecting from a stone clad wall, cantilevered white oak stair treads lead to an extraordinary wine display that incorporates a sculptural component taken as a memento from our client’s work as a producer in the film industry, adding a strong personal dimension. There are two built-ins represented. One, with the desk, is in the study/tv room. Another is in a little hallway/alcove off the master bedroom.

For our full gut renovation of this Manhattan loft penthouse, we partnered with architecture firm Todd Zwigard Architects. Many of our clients know us as experts in the full design-build approach, where we handle every aspect of the project. But in this case, architectural plans were already drawn, the full schedule was finished, and our clients needed a partner to execute on the architectural plans – enter Gallery. Construction management is as vital to a project as the design phase, so we’re happy to offer our expertise in this type of scenario. A DIFFERENT APPROACH Construction and design are often the face of most renovations, but the planning and follow-through are naturally just as necessary to make it all come together. The project itself was a fairly straightforward gut renovation of the loft. Everything was included: new floors, a new kitchen, new bathrooms, new lighting. Our task was to manage every aspect of the construction, ensuring that the planning work of Todd Zwigard Architects was executed to the exact vision imagined for this Manhattan loft renovation. CONTEMPORARY GOES ECLECTIC Although we didn’t contribute to the aesthetic of the interior design in this project, we did carry out the plans that brought it life. The tone was very modern, with some eclectic touches. The kitchen, featuring an island with a baby blue lacquered finish, blends contemporary clean lines into an industrial-tinged, almost futuristic aesthetic. On the first floor, walls were also removed that separated the rooms. Additional space was captured that was previously hidden, such as with the closets. Interior Designer, Melissa Blassingille conceptualized a living room with a hidden door that opens up to an office. In this area, the audio and visual components are stored and connected to the Google Nest system. Read further to learn about the Google Nest system Renowned installed in the home. There are five pocket doors like these throughout the house. These high-end SOSS doors are engineered with a push-to-open mechanism and invisible hinges.

The scheme is an L-shaped, open-plan building containing primary living space covered with a shed roof. This configuration forms a “courtyard” facing southeast, which contains the main entry. Intersected with the shed roof component the mudroom, bedroom, and master closet and bath are contained in “cabins” of stone with arced roofs. The roof support at the northwest corner has been eliminated to allow a sliding glass system which, when open, voids the corner of the family room. This allows the living space to extend onto an elevated concrete terrace overlooking the view. The result is a living environment that distinguishes public from private uses with form and space, provides outdoor areas of contrasting characteristics in a place of sharp seasonal contrast, and creates an image that blends with the landscape.

This Mccormick Ranch beauty was remodeled from head to toe, inside and out. We gutted this home to bring in a more modern feel. The kitchen was updated with white shaker cabinetry, glass tile backsplash and gorgeous Calcutta marble countertops. We built a custom wall unit and added an over sized barn door to hide all of the components. The master bath was turned into a spa with the addition of a steam shower lined in Calcutta marble. The en suite bath was also updated with a steam shower lined in glass tile. A carrara accent wall was created for the gorgeous furniture piece vanity. We installed 12 inch distressed wood throughout the house. The landscaping was professionally done with artificial grass in the front, a paver driveway/walkway and tumbles travertine pavers for the courtyard.

Our client’s goal was to work on some of the remaining spaces of the home that had not yet been remodeled to the aesthetic of the homeowners. They were seeking a more cohesive design element throughout the home and were very much in need of more functional spaces with better storage. By eliminating the built-in tub in the primary bathroom we were able to expand the footprint of the shower to the limits of the skylight for a sinuous transition. We added a tall storage cabinet for bath items, linens and also the concealed housing for the steam shower components. The vanity was extended to the window for more storage and a second sink making the shared space much more enjoyable. The high end finishes of marble, quarter sawn white oak, and terracotta tiles helped elevate the feel of the space to be in line with the rest of the primary suite. In the basement, finishing out some of the unfinished space with bright, clean, and low maintenance finishes helped to expand the livable footprint of the basement and created the perfect opportunity for a very fun “tiny house”. This, along with an updated and fully finished living space, created a very inviting and comfortable family space for adults and children to enjoy together. The laundry room turned out beautifully with a soft and interesting palette. We utilized every corner of the room to facilitate laundry basket storage, a fold-down folding table, open and closet storage and hidden hanging rod for drying clothes.

This Master Walk In Closet has plenty of hanging storage. We installed both double and single hang rods per our clients request. There are also adjustable shelves for clothes and shoes.

This was a total gut and remodel of an early 1900's bungalow. The homeowners are empty nesters looking to make the most of the space in their 840 square foot home. The original bath still had no shower, and the kitchen hadn't been updated in fifty years. Kitcheart designed and supplied the kitchen and bath cabinetry to suit the homeowner's mid-century and craftsman style. Hickory cabinetry was custom stained with a paint wash that matched their Sherwin Williams color pick, "Favorite Jeans." Family dishes are hidden behind antique mirrored doors with custom X mullions. They chose Thermador appliances and a farm sink to complete the look and functionality. In their master bathroom, the vanity cabinet was customized to hold the items she uses, including a favorite hair dryer. A last-minute addition to the kitchen was the cabinet extension under their flatscreen TV to keep all the components and wires hidden from view while providing additional counter space. The breakfast bar makes a quick meal more comfortable.

We designed a play area suited especially for the child. The tree cutout demonstrates our ability to design custom components that serve both a purpose and unique scenery within the confines of a persons home. The tree cutout quietly blends with the custom made play area that also functions as a storage unit. The color palette used on the walls match the various furnishings perfectly. The hue of the walls and tree cutout pay homage to fairy tales and the art of storytelling. This bedroom is essentially, a page right out of a children’s book.
