Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes. Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture,and accessories. The Barbara Barry dressing table was an existing piece that inspired the overall design concept. Note the wallpapered ceiling detail which brings your eye upwards, creating an extra layer that is like a lid to a jewelry box.

At the far end of the deck, a three season room was added off of the living room, providing a shady respite for dining and relaxing. This room features built in cabinetry to store off season screens or glass panels, as well as outdoor dining wear. A Douglas Fir ceiling is finished with a marine varnish for a nautical look. The Laurel was a project that required a rigorous lesson in southern architectural vernacular. The site being located in the hot climate of the Carolina shoreline, the client was eager to capture cross breezes and utilize outdoor entertainment spaces. The home was designed with three covered porches, one partially covered courtyard, and one screened porch, all accessed by way of French doors and extra tall double-hung windows. The open main level floor plan centers on common livings spaces, while still leaving room for a luxurious master suite. The upstairs loft includes two individual bed and bath suites, providing ample room for guests. Native materials were used in construction, including a metal roof and local timber.

Aventura Magazine said: In the master bedroom, the subtle use of color keeps the mood serene. The modern king-sized bed is from B@B Italia. The Willy Dilly Lamp is by Ingo Maurer and the white Oregani linens were purchased at Luminaire. In order to achieve the luxury of the natural environment, she extensively renovated the front of the house and the back door area leading to the pool. In the front sections, Corredor wanted to look out-doors and see green from wherever she was seated. Throughout the house, she created several architectural siting areas using a variety of architectural and creative devices. One of the sting areas was greatly expanded by adding two marble slabs to extend the room, which leads directly outdoors. From one door next to unique vertical shelf filled with stacked books. Corredor and her husband can pass through paradise to a bedroom/office area.

The master suite features a colorful bedroom with playful graphic designs on the bedspread and wall paper. Next to the bedroom is the master on-suite bathroom. Scavolini suspended bath cabinetry is a organic medium brown textured melamin (copied in the two jack & jill bathrooms also pictured). The room is centered around a stand alone white porcelain tub with chrome faucet. Jack & Jill bathrooms are almost identical, using the same 'warm' textured melamine in the cabinets from Scavolini. Each bathroom has its own identity in the small upper medicine cabinet, one in sage green and the other in turquoise blue matte lacquer. Martin Vecchio
