Janine Dowling spent four days with us in our Jamaican mountainside home, which needed furnishings and a facelift. I am an architect and needed guidance on how to manage the challenges of the brilliant tropical sunlight on fabrics and colors. Her assignment was to suggest design approaches and we would follow through with local resources. While with us, Janine listened to how we wished to live in our home and maximize the presence of its stunning views. She measured and documented each room and outdoors space, recommended furnishing layouts, and left with us images from magazines based on our preferences. Once she returned to her office, Janine sent floor plans and a comprehensive packet of design strategy approaches, alternatives, and specifications for colors, fabrics lighting and furnishing layouts. Janine worked methodically and left us with comprehensive guidance. Using larger pieces, she emboldened spaces that would have remained cluttered, and she facilitated a renovation plan that was easy for us to complete with confidence.

She respected my vision of bold color, but did not hesitate to guide me away from a bad decision! Janine stayed within the budget, and was very communicative during the entire process. Janine is a pleasure to work with! She is detailed, efficient, and extremely organized. She is very respectful of her time and the client's time. She has a great eye, but is also very good at understanding the client's style and what they want. She does a great job mixing beautiful custom pieces with some more reasonable retail pieces. She is very respectful of the client's opinion but it makes it clear when she feels strongly on something (in a good way!). Overall, I felt as though she worked very closely to the project parameters and budget - the end result stayed true to what we initially planned out. I couldn't be happier with the results!
