Operable shutters on the tub window open to reveal a view of the coastline. The boys' bathroom has gray/blue and white subway tile on the walls and easy to maintain porcelain wood look tile on the floor.

Master Bedroom: This suburban New Jersey couple wanted the architectural features of this expansive bedroom to truly shine, and we couldn't agree more. We painted the walls a rich color to highlight the vaulted ceilings and brick fireplace, and kept draperies simple to show off of the huge windows and lovely country view. We added a batten board treatment on the back wall to enhance the bed as the focal point and create a farmhouse chic feel. We love the chandelier floating above, reflecting light across the room off of each dangling crystal teardrop. Similar to the dining room, we let texture do the heavy lifting to add visual depth as opposed to color or pattern. In the master suite, custom side tables made of vintage card catalogs flank a dark gray and blue bookcase laid out in a herringbone pattern that takes up the entire wall behind the upholstered headboard.

They played up the natural beauty surrounding the house, by enhancing the natural light and introducing new textures that would give the space a modern look. Being centred in a wooden lot, we chose to carry natural materials like walnut, marble and slate into the room. However, to add drama and contrast, the elements are juxtaposed with industrial lighting, square high-polished fixtures and a factory-style barn door.

Against the dramatic backdrop of a nearly ceiling-height headboard, layers of custom pillows are a stunning accent. Our client's master bedroom fulfills her wish for color, glamorous surroundings and touches of sparkle and shine.

Choosing the right artwork will help pull together a room. In this case, we opted for contemporary pieces in the same color palette as this master bedroom and the rest of the home.

This remodel project in Kirkland involved a new chef’s kitchen, updated family room and fully transformed bathrooms. The once dark and dated kitchen was completely reimagined by brightening the space, reconfiguring the island to create a larger and more usable cooking area and maximizing the storage throughout by adding custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry. The transformed bathrooms find the perfect balance of design harmony and practicality through creative layout enhancements coupled with a charming modern farmhouse vibe.
