This fall, Amethyst had the opportunity to partner with Freeman Custom Homes of Kansas City to furnish this 5000 sq ft European Modern designed home for the Artisan Home Tour 2020! Every square inch of this home was magical -- from the secret staircase in the master bath leading to a private shuttered plunge pool to the vaulted kitchen with sky high mushroom colored cabinetry and handmade zellige tile. We met the builders during the cabinetry phase and watching their final, thoughtful design details evolve was such full of over-the-top surprises like the unique valet-like storage in the entry and limestone fireplace! As soon as we saw their vision for the home, we knew our furnishings would be a great match as our design style celebrates handmade rugs, artisan handmade custom seating, old-meets-new art, and let's be honest -- we love to go big! They trusted us to do our thing on the entire main level and we enjoyed every minute. The load in took 3 full trucks and fortunately for us -- the homeowners fell in love with several pieces so our uninstall trip was significantly lighter. The clients sought a serene indoor-outdoor retreat to unwind, featuring a spa-like bath with disappearing walls, a spacious freestanding tub, and abundant natural light. The layout was reconfigured for functionality, privacy, and a calm, timeless design that blends harmoniously with the home's aesthetic, creating a perfect space for relaxation and family visits. To the manor born… or at least it will feel like it in this elegant yet easygoing French Country home designed by Visbeen Architects with a busy family who wants the best of the past and the present in mind. Drawn from both French and English traditional architecture, this two-story 5,463-square-foot home is a pleasing and timeless blend of two perennially popular styles. It was only a matter of putting their personal stamp on it with an emphasis on outdoor living to suit their evolving lifestyle with grandchildren. That vision included a natural screened porch that would invite the landscape inside and provide a vibrant space for maximized outdoor entertaining complete with electric ceiling heaters, adjacent wet bar & beverage station that all integrated seamlessly with the custom-built inground pool. Aside from providing the perfect getaway & entertainment mecca for their large family, this couple planned their forever home thoughtfully by adding square footage to accommodate single-level living. Sunrises are now magical from their first-floor master suite, luxury bath with soaker tub and laundry room, all with a view! This Lake Sherwood, CA home transformed from Tuscan to transitional, with overscaled furnishings for that comfortable California living lifestyle that our homeowners wanted. The steely pitched ceiling was flattened in the middle for an intricate pattern of molding intertwined with lighting. The large greatroom included wine tasting/game table area for four, a custom bar and large lounging area, with 16' of sliding doors that extended the entertainment space onto the patio.

The 1990s home underwent a large renovation including a new kitchen and great room, master suite, home office and improvements to the exterior. Following the comprehensive remodel the home was outfitted with furnishings down to the last detail. We sprinkled in family treasures, memories and the magic felt outdoors.
