New to Dallas from California, this couple engaged us to fully furnish and partially renovate their new Frisco home. They were uncertain of what to do with their new-Texas sized house, nor did they know which style was most fitting, but we had loads of fun figuring that out with them! They knew they loved white and neutrals, yet needed to balance that affinity with functionality, suitable for their young children. We brought in furnishings with light toned woods, scaled to fill up their large spaces, along with light and bright performance fabrics that would hold up even with small children and a beloved (not so small) dog. Incorporating textures were key in keeping depth within the designs and appears in rugs, floor tiles, bedding, wallpaper, and fabrics throughout. The glass light fixtures, organic inspired artwork, and monochromatic tiles keep things feeling casually elegant and completely livable. All together, the result is just what they wanted…a beautiful, calm-inducing, comfortable place they are excited to call home.

This project combines two existing studio apartments into a compact 800 sqft. live/work space for a young professional couple in the heart of Chelsea, New York. The design required some creative space planning to meet the Owner’s requested program for an open plan solution with a private master bedroom suite and separate study that also allowed for entertaining small parties, including the ability to provide a sleeping space for guests. The solution was to identify areas of overlap within the program that could be addressed with dual-function custom millwork pieces. A bar-stool counter at the open kitchen folds out to become a bench and dining table for formal entertaining. A custom desk folds down with a murphy bed to convert a private study into a guest bedroom area. A series of pocket door connecting the spaces provide both privacy to the master bedroom area when closed, and the option for a completely open layout when opened. A carefully selected material palette brings a warm, tranquil feel to the space. Reclaimed teak floors run seamlessly through the main spaces to accentuate the open layout. Warm gray lacquered millwork, Centaurus granite slabs, and custom oxidized stainless steel details, give an elegant counterpoint to the natural teak floors. The master bedroom suite and study feature custom Afromosia millwork. The bathrooms are finished with cool toned ceramic tile, custom Afromosia vanities, and minimalist chrome fixtures. AV Architects + Builders Location: McLean, VA, USA This fabulous rustic-modern home measures more than 10,000 square feet with 2,000 square feet of customized outdoor spaces. The focus of our design was to create an open-floor layout and have each room connect with the next. Suitable for both family and entertaining purposes, our design offers all natural materials both on the interior and exterior. Not only does the interior offer plenty of room for entertaining, but we added a grotto and a pool to help move the fun to the outdoors. This handsome all white brick two-story home with a three car garage was constructed on our client’s property in Flowery Branch GA. The exterior of the home features ornamental wooden gable and roof brackets as well as a three-window dormer. The front entrance, with it glass double-doors, allows ample natural lighting into the foyer. The foyer leads to a formal office on the left with a glass paneled barn-door style opening. On the right of the foyer is a formal dining room with a craftsman style tray ceiling and a wood-inlaid designer wall. There are hardwood floors throughout the home. The family room features an exposed beam coffered ceiling and a stone fireplace flanked by built-in cabinets and bookshelves. The family room flows through to the kitchen with its designer cabinets and expansive island, which is suitable for both food preparation and a seating area. The horizontal double-oven and the six-burner stove have the convenience of a pot filler for gourmet cooking. The pantry has an exceptional amount of shelves and sliding baskets for storage. The master bedroom has a sitting area, tray ceiling, personal refrigerator and wet bar. The exquisite master bath includes a soaking tub, separate walk-in shower, his-and-hers vanity and a water closet. The massive master closet was designed with bountiful hanging and shelf space as well as a closet island and a fully lit dressing mirror. The home was built on a full basement which has interior walls and utilities roughed in for future expansion. This area also includes two more parking garage stalls. The outdoor living space provides many hosting and entertainment options with its covered patio and outdoor fireplace as well as the in-ground pool and hot tub.

The Inverness Bathroom remodel had these goals: to complete the work while allowing the owner to continue to use their workshop below the project's construction, to provide a high-end quality product that was low-maintenance to the owners, to allow for future accessibility, more natural light and to better meet the daily needs of both the husband's and wife's lifestyles. The first challenge was providing the required structural support to continue to clear span the two cargarage below which housed a workshop. The sheetrock removal, framing and sheetrock repairs and painting were completed first so the owner could continue to use his workshop, as requested. The HVAC supply line was originally an 8" duct that barely fit in the roof triangle between the ridge pole and ceiling. In order to provide the required air flow to additional supply vents in ceiling, a triangular duct was fabricated allowing us to use every square inch of available space. Since every exterior wall in the space adjoined a sloped ceiling, we installed ventilation baffles between each rafter and installed spray foam insulation.This project more than doubled the square footage of usable space. The new area houses a spaciousshower, large bathtub and dressing area. The addition of a window provides natural light. Instead of a small double vanity, they now have a his-and-hers vanity area. We wanted to provide a practical and comfortable space for the wife to get ready for her day and were able to incorporate a sit down make up station for her. The honed white marble looking tile is not only low maintenance but creates a clean bright spa appearance. The custom color vanities and built in linen press provide the perfect contrast of boldness to create the WOW factor. The sloped ceilings allowed us to maximize the amount of usable space plus provided the opportunity for the built in linen press with drawers at the bottom for additional storage. We were also able to combine two closets and add built in shelves for her. This created a dream space for our client that craved organization and functionality. A separate closet on opposite side of entrance provided suitable and comfortable closet space for him. In the end, these clients now have a large, bright and inviting master bath that will allow for complete accessibility in the future.

This custom-built residence was our client’s childhood home, holding sentimental memories for her. Today as a detail-oriented Dentist and her husband, a retired Sea Captain, they wanted to put their own stamp on the house, making it suitable for their own unique lifestyle. The main objective of the design was to increase the Puget Sound views in every room possible. This entailed some areas receiving major overhaul, such as the master suite, lesser updates to the kitchen and office, and a surprise remodel to the expansive wine cellar. All these were done while preserving the home’s 1970s-era quirkiness.

Chrome hardware was chosen in accompany with chrome fixtures to modernize the design.

This is a remodel of small home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, just off Sunset Blvd. The goals of this project are to reconfigure the floor plan and to meet current homeowner's needs and update its aesthetics to current tastes suitable in that area. To achieve these goals, the interior of the house was completely gutted and reconfigured and the exterior was removed and wrapped with new siding. Since the house is close to ocean and surrounded by celebrities' mansions, the interior design is slightly eclectic with a mix of coastal casual with a hint of modern Hollywood glam.
