The Clients contacted Cecil Baker + Partners to reconfigure and remodel the top floor of a prominent Philadelphia high-rise into an urban pied-a-terre. The forty-five story apartment building, overlooking Washington Square Park and its surrounding neighborhoods, provided a modern shell for this truly contemporary renovation. Originally configured as three penthouse units, the 8,700 sf interior, as well as 2,500 square feet of terrace space, was to become a single residence with sweeping views of the city in all directions. The Client’s mission was to create a city home for collecting and displaying contemporary glass crafts. Their stated desire was to cast an urban home that was, in itself, a gallery. While they enjoy a very vital family life, this home was targeted to their urban activities - entertainment being a central element. The living areas are designed to be open and to flow into each other, with pockets of secondary functions. At large social events, guests feel free to access all areas of the penthouse, including the master bedroom suite. A main gallery was created in order to house unique, travelling art shows. Stemming from their desire to entertain, the penthouse was built around the need for elaborate food preparation. Cooking would be visible from several entertainment areas with a “show” kitchen, provided for their renowned chef. Secondary preparation and cleaning facilities were tucked away. The architects crafted a distinctive residence that is framed around the gallery experience, while also incorporating softer residential moments. Cecil Baker + Partners embraced every element of the new penthouse design beyond those normally associated with an architect’s sphere, from all material selections, furniture selections, furniture design, and art placement. "When we decided to renovate our newly purchased home we hired TaylorPro, owned by Kerry Taylor. We were extremely happy with his work - in fact, I can't imagine being happier. Our new kitchen is just beautiful as is the master bath and updates to other parts of our house. We hired Kerry while we were still living in Boston so keeping in touch was critical and Kerry corresponded with us very frequently, including photos to keep us apprised of the status of the various projects. Of course if there was a question it was asked almost immediately and he was wonderful about suggesting less expensive alternatives when that made sense. Throughout the project it felt like Kerry was remodeling his own home. He was all about quality. The remodel was finished in the time frame that Kerry had promised and on target with our budget. We love our new home. I hear so many people complain about their contractor. Not me. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. If you hire Kerry and his team you'll see what I mean." ~ Lauren S, Client Master Suite Remodel featuring Walnut Cabinetry and Walnut Doors. Rich porcelain tile shower . Bedroom - mid-sized transitional master medium tone wood floor and brown floor bedroom idea in San Francisco with blue walls

Centered on six full-sized city lots in the heart of Portland’s Irvington neighborhood, this historic estate badly needed a new kitchen and a reconceived connection to the spacious grounds at the rear of the home. The owner’s impeccable design sense was a perfect match for Emerick Architects’ skill and space planning. The craftsmen at Hammer & Hand brought their vision to life with wood, stone, cabinetry, and paint in the sun room, master suite, great room, and kitchen remodels. Extensive casework detailed to exactly match the complicated profiles of the existing house makes the addition a truly seamless remodel.

This condo was stuck in the 70s: dingy brown cabinets, worn out fixtures, and ready for a complete overhaul. What started as a bathroom update turned into a complete remodel of the condo. The kitchen became our main target, and as we brought it out of the 70s, the rest came with it. Our client wanted a home closer to their grandchildren, but to be comfortable and functional, it needed an update. Once we begin on a design plan for one space, the vision can spread across to the other rooms, up the walls, and down to the floors. Beginning with the bathroom, our client opted for a clean and elegant look: white quartz, subway tile, and floating shelves, all of which was easy to translate into the kitchen. The shower and tub were replaced and tiled with a perfectly sized niche for soap and shampoo, and a slide bar hand shower from Delta for an easy shower experience. Perfect for bath time with the grandkids! And to maximize storage, we installed floating shelves to hide away those extra bath toys! In a condo where the kitchen is only a few steps from the master bath, it's helpful to stay consistent, so we used the same quartz countertops, tiles, and colors for a consistent look that's easy on the eyes. The kitchen received a total overhaul. New appliances, way more storage with tall corner cabinets, and lighting that makes the space feel bright and inviting. But the work did not stop there! Our team repaired and painted sheetrock throughout the entire condo, and also replaced the doors and window frames. So when we're asked, "Do you do kitchens?" the answer is, "We do it all!"
