A home remodel allowed for a new hall bathroom including a window. Marble was used throughout on heated floors, shower walls and baseboard detail. Shades of blue unify the space including the strie wallpaper. The pull-out laundry hamper was an ask from the client to help keep dirty items off the bathroom floor.

A fully renovated kitchen becomes the focal point of this revamped home. Keeping the charm of the original home was essential, while making it more functional for the family to enjoy. A raised, Walnut breakfast bar brings in some warmth and is a nice complement to the other tones within the space. The kitchen island light fixture has an antique brass finish to complement the actual antiques throughout the home.

ASID Design Excellence First Place Residential – Kitchen and Bathroom: Michael Merrill Design Studio was approached three years ago by the homeowner to redesign her kitchen. Although she was dissatisfied with some aspects of her home, she still loved it dearly. As we discovered her passion for design, we began to rework her entire home--room by room, top to bottom.

Our clients had a kitchen that suffered from a lack of natural light, little connection to the dining and entertaining space, and many storage problems. With brand-new cabinetry, one less wall and more durable finishes, we were able to give them the kitchen they've always wanted.
