Other than diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, granite is the hardest natural stone. Granite is the preferred stone for exterior or interior as it is known for its strength and resistance to the elements.

we opened up the entry passage by removing the rood diaphragm and exposing the roof framing. And with that framing we made a trellis out of electrical conduit to play off the new zinc roof.

This South Seas Island influenced shower with tropical foliage, pebble floor, and side walls and ceiling reminiscent of weathered clapboard siding on an old beach cottage.
The details:
- The accent wall is an Amazonia Cott Tropic design from @thetileshop that we laid out to create this mix matched design.
- The floor is an olive “Botany Bay Coin” tile from @mosaictile with a custom “prism” natural gray grout color.
- The side walls and ceiling tile is 6”x12” “Pacific Blanco” tile from @thetileshop.
- We started with a standard drain cover to match the oil rubbed bronze hardware. However, when it arrived, it looked totally different from the shower faucet finish. We considered having the drain cover electrostatically recoated but the lead time was 3 weeks. Finally, we found the best solution of a unique drain cover in a cream finish and the curved design was so appropriate with the "coin" shower floor. The problem turned into a blessing!
- Glass French doors with Colonial style back to back pull handles in oil rubbed bronze.

New Media Art
All works reflect the work of the artist, Carol Ashton, with each piece anchored in acrylic on canvas then further investigated with digital media. Carol draws on her experience as Digital Literacy Specialist with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to continue her exploration with digital technologies as a relevant and robust means of expressing beauty in the digital age.
Significant in her work is the desire to validate the union of art and function, recognizing the role of beauty in the internal conversations we have with our home and work environment.

Feng shui tip: Your feelings of comfort with your home or office space can be affected by two major factors:
1.) Your gut feeling towards that space.
2.) Your effort into that space.
You can start out with a place of good feng shui and then put further effort into it. You can also start out with just a positive feeling towards a place and make it into a warm, fuzzy feng shui-filled abode.
The order doesn't matter. But you must have both good feelings and active effort to make a place as powerful as you hope it to be.
The personal effort that goes into a space's safety, comfort, and beauty will be rewarded.
So go ahead and pat yourself on the back for buying those little bamboo reeds.

Arabescato Vagli is a stunning brecciated Italian marble. Its cloudy white clasts are suspended in a pinkish background intersected by grey-green veins, for a sophisticated look unique to each slab.

Decadent. Rich. Lavish. Perfect words to describe the LAMINAM Calacatta Mediceo that graces this elegant kitchen. Design exclusively by Ollin Stone, the design of this sublime stone has us thinking of Italian cream and caramel — a luscious combination indeed.
