Dig Your Garden Landscape DesignAeonium and other succulents and grasses line the new concrete pathway complimented by Mexican pebbles. To gain more usable space in this narrow landscape and update the hardscaping and overgrown garden, my design reconfigured the pathway with poured-in-place concrete pavers accented by Mexican pebbles and a stunning variety of succulents and other site-appropriate plantings that thrive in shade and part sun. We removed the tree to create a patio area large enough to fit a table and chairs for a small group. Non-invasive/clumping Bamboo was added to help screen the patio and provide privacy. Other shade to part-shade plants were included that provide a variety of textures and colors throughout the seasons. Low-voltage lighting was installed for safety and ambiance. BANDD DESIGNWe wanted this bathroom interior to be chic, sophisticated, and unique! Gorgeous Mexican tiled flooring paired with a black-framed French shower stall set the tone for this "globally infused" interior. A large soaking tub, classic white wall tiling, and brass accents create a classic feel whereas the deep blue-green vanity add a pop of color!

Derrick Dodge Interior DesignThe master bedroom overlooks a private patio and custom fountain off of the main public patio. A custom iron bed was designed by Derrick Dodge. An antique garden rug enhances the color scheme of the room. The focus in this room are all black and white photographs of the children, as well as Mexican callaberos and Mexican scenes. An antique Mexican chair is covered with an antique Indian shawl, the table beside is was made from an old Mexican brazier. The fabric on the two iron benches are by Boussac of France. The client loves fabrics and changes her pillows and bed coverings regularly.

Land & Water DesignThe water feature is 24” deep 500 s.f. and filled with 6” of Black Mexican beach pebbles. Multiple Techobloc Raffinato planters each equipped with drip irrigation. Plantings were installed by our client. Six sheer descent waterfalls and multi-colored underwater lights are controlled from the clients mobile phone or iPad.
All the paving is a Turkish Travertine with a connecting floating bridge that leads to a more private sunken patio/pavilion area, where one can sit and enjoy the tranquil sound of sheer descent waterfalls. The addition of the contemporary sculpture and a bubbling granite boulder completes this backyard transformation!

The owner Jorgen Henriksen, who is a retired Art Professor from the Boston University and a painter, had very clear ideas about which colors to use. The problem for TRC was the amount…there were 5-different color hardeners broadcast onto the slabs and a week later we were acid staining those floors with 3-different acid stains. At one point we pulled out our power trowels to assist with the color lay down because there was just far too much color to handle by hand. Later Jorgen added colorful concrete countertops and a shower with an exposed Mexican pebble floor.
