This space had the potential for greatness but was stuck in the 1980's era. We were able to transform and re-design this kitchen that now enables it to be called not just a "dream Kitchen", but also holds the award for "Best Kitchen in Westchester for 2016 by Westchester Home Magazine". Features in the kitchen are as follows: Inset cabinet construction, Maple Wood, Onyx finish, Raised Panel Door, sliding ladder, huge Island with seating, pull out drawers for big pots and baking pans, pullout storage under sink, mini bar, overhead television, builtin microwave in Island, massive stainless steel range and hood, Office area, Quartz counter top.

You can pair black stainless steel with just about any kitchen color under the sun. We’ve seen it paired with everything from black cabinets and neon paint to natural colors and Sky-blue. Depending on the shade, black stainless steel could virtually go with anything.

This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail. This gorgeous kitchen was designed as part of a beautiful new home. The homeowner loved to cook and entertain, both function and aesthetics were very important to her. She wanted a kitchen designed for multiple cooks and lots of room for her family to gather. Traffic flow was key, it needed to flow easily into the adjacent spaces. The large island full of drawer storage became the major focal point of this kitchen. A custom grey stain on hickory was used to complement the white perimeter cabinets. The unique blue Skye quartzite was used just on the island adding a nice element of drama to the kitchen. The placement of the Double ovens, steam oven, microwave and range top was thought out carefully to meet the homeowners’ requirements.

View of the existing kitchen from the bar height seating area prior to construction. The existing microwave was installed over the range for ductless venting from the cooking area. All above counter outlets were installed in the wall and were obvious against the black tile backsplash. The pantry storage was enclosed behind a latched door and included wire shelving. The need for additional storage can be seen by the rolling cart next to the existing footprint of the kitchen. All door and faucet hardware at the time was brushed nickel.

This modern style kitchen design in Grosse Pointe Woods features light wood finished shaker style custom Woodmaster kitchen cabinets. The frameless cabinets have soft closing doors and drawers, with special 48" wall cabinets in the buffet area and 1/8" clear glass in the top part of the door. The cabinetry is accented by Atlas Hardware, Mont Quartz countertop, and Virginia Tile Vallelunga Calacatta porcelain subway tile backsplash with Schluter trim. Task Lighting buffet lighting including undercabinet, above cabinet, and in cabinet lights illuminate the space. GE appliances feature throughout this kitchen remodel including a GE Profile over the range convection microwave oven. The team also refinished hardwood floors to complete the design.

Valance under range adds a furniture feel. Soffit over hood creates a termination for the tile backsplash in this kitchen with 10' ceilings.
