This project was a complete home design plan for a large new construction luxury home on the south-end of Mercer Island. The contrasting colors utilized throughout emit a chic modern vibe while the complementing darker tones invites a sense of warmth to this modern farmhouse style.

Custom Vern & Burl vanity was built to spec for a single piece integrated top & lavatory. Deco tile was carried around the wall tile to the tub shower and topped with a custom walnut trim to match the vanity.

The new master bath features a large walk-in shower with a frameless glass wall and door.
A polished Giallo Napoleon granite countertop was selected to match the shower tile and the Mocha Plato cabinets.
White Kohler Caxton Undermount Lavatory sinks were used with Delta Addision Windespread Lavatory faucets in a stainless finish.
The shower featured a stainless Delta Touch-Clean 3-Setting showerhead. A Kohler Wellworth Toilet with Highline bowl were used as well as a Kohler recessed medicine cabinet with a beveled mirror edge.
An 8" marble Diana Royal corner shelf, and a Granite Giallo Napoleon bench seat were installed in the shower.
13" x 3" and 13" Ceramic Prato field tiles in Classico finish were used on the master bath floor and 2" Porcelain Florim USA Stonefire mosaic tile was featured on the shower floor. 12" x 24" Stonefire tile was spread across the shower walls for a wider look.

We love this rustic-modern Houston patio addition with an outdoor kitchen and double pergola!
It not only made the most of a long, narrow space while satisfying strict homeowners association rules, but did so affordably in a warm, timeless style.
“The client really enjoys outdoor living, but had a specific budget they wanted to meet,” explains Outdoor Homescapes owner Wayne Franks. “They also live on a golf course and had to meet particular HOA requirements.”
The HOA requirements restricted how far back the new 450-square-foot patio and pergola could extend back into the yard. The HOA also wanted to make sure the patio’s colors and materials matched the existing home and others around it.
“We chose colors and materials that offered texture and character, but that would go with just about anything around it,” says Wayne. “We found what we were looking for in the Fantastico travertine and Austin limestone – two materials clients love and just can’t go wrong with.”
The Austin limestone facing the 8-foot-square, L-shaped kitchen island is dry-stacked in a castle pattern for a naturalistic, rustic look. Yet its light, neutral color keeps the style fresh and modern.
Adding to the modern look are the stainless steel appliances: an RCS 30-inch stainless steel grill, double burner and outdoor fridge. Even though the finishes on the sink and light fixtures (Hunter pendant lamps and Hampton Bay light/fan combos) have a different finish – oil-rubbed-bronze – this actually follows the recent trend of mixing different metals, materials and finishes.
“The look’s not so matchy-matchy anymore,” explains Wayne. “Mixing it up makes it look more authentic and personalized.”
That’s why backsplashes like the one in this project – done in glass and metal mosaic – are also becoming more popular than traditional ceramic tile.
Another recent trend can be seen here, too – an amping up of color variation and texture.
“In addition to the split-face texture of the rock, you can definitely see the bold color variation in the travertine,” says Wayne.
The flooring is a Fantastico travertine, laid out in a Versailles pattern. “The Fantastico tile is killer,” says Wayne. “The warm reds go great with red brick, which we have a lot of around here.”
The countertop with the rounded, raised bar at the end is English walnut travertine.
The red bar stools also add a pop of exciting color that contrasts nicely with the greenery around the patio.
The double pergola, continues Wayne, is No. 2 pine stained a Minwax honey-gold. One side of the pergola – the side over the seating area – is covered with Lexan, a clear material that keeps out rain, heat and UV rays.
The pergola also juts further into the yard on that side. “It’s called a scallop, and it just lends some visual interest,” explains Wayne. “It prevents the pergola from just looking like one big rectangular hunk of wood.”
Wayne particularly likes how everything blended so well with the brick – which was a big concern – yet didn’t come off as too neutral or boring.
“The Fantastico travertine and red chairs do an excellent job of pulling the red from the brick and working with the warmth of that color to make a super-inviting space,” says Wayne. “We’re really pleased with how it all ties together so well.”

The owners of this small condo came to use looking to add more storage to their bathroom. To do so, we built out the area to the left of the shower to create a full height “dry niche” for towels and other items to be stored. We also included a large storage cabinet above the toilet, finished with the same distressed wood as the two-drawer vanity.
We used a hex-patterned mosaic for the flooring and large format 24”x24” tiles in the shower and niche. The green paint chosen for the wall compliments the light gray finishes and provides a contrast to the other bright white elements.

Home bar backsplash: Eden Mosaic Tile 3D Raised Brick Aluminum Mosaic Tile, Gray Blends - EMT-AL09-MIX-CB. Aluminum mosaic tiles provide the look of stainless steel metal mosaic tiles but with added texture and durability. The circular brushed aluminum finish gives a unique modern aesthetic while the extruded structure of the tiles (1.2" x 0.6") provides superior durability and support once installed. If you are considering metal mosaic tiles for your kitchen or bathroom backsplash or perhaps for an accent wall then you should seriously consider our collection of aluminum mosaic tiles. This tile can be mounted vertically or horizontally so that the individual pieces point either vertically or horizontally depending on what type of effect you want to achieve.
“We chose your tile from hundreds and are extremely happy with our selection.” Testimonial by Jean B.

The floors are white wood look a like ceramic tiles and gray matching wood look a like tile baseboards.
The center piece of the whole bathroom is the shower, using vertical chevron style tile gives the feeling of space and at the same time the chevron shape adds depth.
for the accent of the shower unit we used mosaic 3D shapes of limestone tile and to finish it off a stainless steel hidden drain and a Hansgrohe shower system.

By relocating the narrow linen closet to the sitting room outside the bathroom, we expanded the shower and embraced the blue inspiration our client desired, using deep blue 2×8 glass shower wall tiles and a glass mosaic penny round tile on the shower floor and in the shower niche. On the opposite side of the spacious area, a knee wall was added to offer separation between the toilet and vanity. Framing the vanity is a stunning statement wallpaper, adding a vibrant pop of pattern.
Beyond aesthetics, this remodel expertly balances luxury and functionality, harmonizing contemporary fixtures and ambient lighting. This luxurious Primary Bathroom remodel redefines comfort and sophistication within a serene space, marking a remarkable journey from the mundane to the magnificent.

This bathroom is for the kids! This project was completed with wainscoting on the walls, painted wallpaper that has a modern square texture marble mosaic flooring, and crown molding. The vanity and mirrors were purchased from Pottery Barn, putting the icing on the cake for this bathroom remodel.

Delicate green and pink wallpaper and accents tie this young girl's bathroom to her ensuite bedroom decor, partially seen in the mirror. Green glass edged with white glass pencil tiles create a coordinated mirror frame. Green glass floral hardware adds interest to the vanity.

Jane removed the existing tub to make way for a large walk-in shower, complete with an eye-catching contemporary shower panel, contrasting natural bamboo and sleek stainless steel. The rectangular porcelain tile with a bamboo effect was installed vertically to add visual height, while paired with a stone and glass mosaic tile in a wrapped stripe for interest. The glass block window streams natural light through the door-less shower entrance, and can be seen from the bedroom.
To continue the functional clean lines, a large vanity with a travertine countertop and integrated double stone sinks was installed.
