Here is the side of the deck we created for our client. This area connects to the outdoor covered grill and to a set of custom built stairs that leads to the lower level.
This deck was made with pressure treated decking, cedar railing, and features fascia trim.

Franklin, TN, multi-level wooden deck with custom wood railing. The design makes accessibility to the hillside home easy with an integrated deck that leads to the stairway to the house.

Custom multi-level waterproof deck and patio project in Seattle, WA, designed to create a durable year-round outdoor living space. The project combines a professionally waterproofed deck system with custom railings and an integrated patio area. Built with a focus on drainage, durability, low maintenance, and modern outdoor living in the Pacific Northwest climate. Designed and built by Intercrus Decks.

Check out the before photo of this project to see the dramatic transformation! This project was very challenging because of the topography, and dealing with zoning regulations (wetlands). The finished project perfectly fits the scale of the space and looks like a natural extension of the house, and not an after-thought.
The homeowners wanted to connect the pool with the deck. To achieve this, we excavated below the deck to build this out. The upper deck serves as an outdoor living room, complete with fireplace, lounge area, and kitchen. The gorgeous tigerwood ceiling (complete with heaters and fans), makes this a space that can be used year-round. The underdeck serves as the perfect hang-out spot after taking a dip in the pool, complete with a gorgeous textured aluminum ceiling in white to give the space an open feel.
The floating monostringer stairs were strategically planned in order to maintain an open feel to the space. From anywhere on the upper or lower deck, you can look across the entire length of the pool.

One of the often under-estimated benefits of a multi-level deck is the improved view of the yard. When you need a large space, but still want to be able to see down to the yard, a second level does the trick.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Traverse City, this Victorian mansion has received all the modern amenities and a new lease on life. This refurbished kitchen boasts Custom Ayr Cabinetry, multi level quartz countertops, a custom stainless steel pot rack, and a heated tile floor. Note the green strip lighting around the floating ceiling crown as an ode to the Michigan State Spartans!
