This project was a complete gut remodel of the owner's childhood home. They demolished it and rebuilt it as a brand-new two-story home to house both her retired parents in an attached ADU in-law unit, as well as her own family of six. Though there is a fire door separating the ADU from the main house, it is often left open to create a truly multi-generational home. For the design of the home, the owner's one request was to create something timeless, and we aimed to honor that.

This powder room is given more of a feminine flair. The multi-color abstracted floral pattern wallpaper adds the right amount of color and pattern. Simple polished nickel sconces with bamboo detailing and white linen shades flank either side of the round mother of pearl mirror. Entertaining in a bathroom never looked so good. Probably a thought that never crossed your mind, but a space as unique as this can do just that. The fusion of so many elements: an open concept shower, freestanding tub, washer/dryer organization, toilet room and urinal created an exciting spacial plan. Ultimately, the freestanding tub creates the first vantage point. This breathtaking view creates a calming effect and each angle pivoting off this point exceeds the next. Following the open concept shower, is the washer/dryer and storage closets which double as decor, incorporating mirror into their doors. The double vanity stands in front of a textured wood plank tile laid horizontally establishing a modern backdrop. Lastly, a rustic barn door separates a toilet and a urinal, an uncharacteristic residential choice that pairs well with beer, wings, and hockey.

Beautifully crafted custom bookcase with built-in rotating desk that nests in the unit. This multi-functional design features a hidden bar, ample shelves and cabinets and, of course, the nesting desk, making it perfect for a wide variety of uses. This project questions the need for excessive space and challenges occupants to be efficient. Two shipping containers saddlebag a taller common space that connects local rock outcroppings to the expansive mountain ridge views. The containers house sleeping and work functions while the center space provides entry, dining, living and a loft above. The loft deck invites easy camping as the platform bed rolls between interior and exterior. The project is planned to be off-the-grid using solar orientation, passive cooling, green roofs, pellet stove heating and photovoltaics to create electricity.

This cedar deck was a replacement for an older traditional deck with railings. We wanted to give the owner an open picture of the landscape with multiple access points and no railings to obscure that view.

This multi level deck was originally all wood and failing. We kept the foot print and upgraded materials for longevity and low maintenance.
