Our clients moved from Southern California to Austin, Texas and had some adjusting to do. Their home had a Texas traditional theme, but they wanted to bring in their California bohemian style. They had a lot of great pieces, really cool style, and a ton of books we had to make room for.

A classic New England antique home elevated by the gardens that surround it. A mix of native plants and easy-care perennials frame every nook and cranny of this stunning property.

This project is entitled 'Bringing Nature Home'; Where the Coyotes Run. While initially meeting with the client on a sunny afternoon a coyote ran across the lawn. This indicated good fortune was waiting. From a Feng Shui perspective...powerful, positive energy. This California native plant front yard is Certified Ocean Friendly, Certified Wildlife Habitat, has been featured on the Mar Vista Green Garden Showcase. Salvia spathacea, or hummingbird sage lines either side of the path. There is also Salvia leucantha (purple), a small Persimmon tree and large Sycamore tree in this photo. Grape vine on porch has not leafed out yet. Rain chain instead of down spout is decorative and functional. This installation was partially funded by a turf removal rebate. --Jacky Surber
