This project was featured in Midwest Home magazine as the winner of ASID Life in Color. The addition of a kitchen with custom shaker-style cabinetry and a large shiplap island is perfect for entertaining and hosting events for family and friends. Quartz counters that mimic the look of marble were chosen for their durability and ease of maintenance. Open shelving with brass sconces above the sink create a focal point for the large open space. Putting a modern spin on the traditional nautical/coastal theme was a goal. We took the quintessential palette of navy and white and added pops of green, stylish patterns, and unexpected artwork to create a fresh bright space. Grasscloth on the back of the built in bookshelves and console table along with rattan and the bentwood side table add warm texture. Finishes and furnishings were selected with a practicality to fit their lifestyle and the connection to the outdoors. A large sectional along with the custom cocktail table in the living room area provide ample room for game night or a quiet evening watching movies with the kids. Cape Cod; Dennis, MA This Cape Cod-style bedroom combines a bright and airy feel with nautical accents, creating a cozy and welcoming space. The focal point of the room is the bed with its classic wooden headboard, featuring a warm, natural wood finish that complements the hardwood floors. The bedding is a crisp white quilt with a clean navy blue trim, which reinforces the coastal color palette. A square decorative pillow with a bold navy blue and white geometric pattern adds a modern touch and visual interest. The nightstand next to the bed is a simple white piece with a glass top, providing both a functional surface and a sense of lightness. A striking feature on the nightstand is a gourd-shaped table lamp with a vibrant teal or turquoise base, which adds a beautiful pop of color and a modern shape. A nautical element is cleverly placed on the lower shelf: a decorative rope knot, which reinforces the home's coastal theme. Inspiration for a coastal home office remodel in Boston

This nautical themed child's bedroom is just right for the beach. It features easy to care for headboard walls and ceiling, built-in furniture, and patriot, nautical decor. Photography by John Martinelli

Designed with an open floor plan and layered outdoor spaces, the Onaway is a perfect cottage for narrow lakefront lots. The exterior features elements from both the Shingle and Craftsman architectural movements, creating a warm cottage feel. An open main level skillfully disguises this narrow home by using furniture arrangements and low built-ins to define each spaces’ perimeter. Every room has a view to each other as well as a view of the lake. The cottage feel of this home’s exterior is carried inside with a neutral, crisp white, and blue nautical themed palette. The kitchen features natural wood cabinetry and a long island capped by a pub height table with chairs. Above the garage, and separate from the main house, is a series of spaces for plenty of guests to spend the night. The symmetrical bunk room features custom staircases to the top bunks with drawers built in. The best views of the lakefront are found on the master bedrooms private deck, to the rear of the main house. The open floor plan continues downstairs with two large gathering spaces opening up to an outdoor covered patio complete with custom grill pit.

A combination of gray and beige, the master bedrooms features a textured silver leaf wallpaper, striped end-bench and chaise lounge, and subtle floral printed bedding. The bedroom is light and refreshing yet sophisticated and timeless. The small touches of gold (through the chandelier lighting) add an extra ounce of intrigue and color. What a pleasure it was designing for this young energetic Emirati couple who had their hands full. Muna and Mohammed are parents to two young beautiful girls, where Muna is a lawyer at Emirates Airlines and Mohammed works for Dubai Police. They approached DeeDecors for their bedroom, a place where they told us they spent the least amount of time, as the décor was so uninviting. Working on the existing furniture – we went Nautical this time with a color palette of Tiffany and Off-White. The touch of rope around the mirror and the coffee table and the wooden lamp with a customized lampshade on the wall gave it a whole new definition.
