The kids’ “fish bedroom” was one of our favorite rooms in the Naples house to design! Twin beds are so restrictive, so we opted for full size beds so the kids could also feel comfortable in their beds as they got older. First of all, can we please talk about this amazing custom fish wallpaper we wrapped around the room? The whimsical, nautical motifs continue with a white shiplap wall, porthole mirrors, a nautical rope chandelier, and a driftwood table lamp between the beds. But it’s the all-white elegance and additional modern details that makes this bedroom remarkable. We LOVE just how unique this client’s taste is. It’s 1960’s Jetsons meets suble, glamorous, and worldly. The’s such a fun mix of antique and vintage pieces, new rugs and fabrics, reupholstered furniture, and deep colors. Their fearlessness around wallpaper and curtains makes us proud. It’s a project that was as fun to work on with our clients as it was to see installed. We found this pair of reupholstered 1950’s Italian Marco Zanuso chairs on chairish.com for the piano room. Other unique finds from Chairish are the 1960’s Italian coffee table between said chairs and the entry bench! We did get to reupholster that bench with some royal diamond Stroheim velvet. We got to play with more velvet Schumacher in the dining room by reupholstering their existing dining chair set. Kitschy and royal; elevating without being so serious. The vintage futuristic nod continues in the custom drapery and table runner in the dining room. The antique chrome and brass Sciolari chandelier in the dining room was discovered on 1stDibs.com! Pause for a pufferfish moment in the powder room; a nautical 60’s surprise! As we work our way back to the living room we added some simple wall sconces to the fireplace wall, we retiled the surround with lovely frosted gray glass tile, and we really enjoyed ourselves with custom pillow designs. This oceanside residence in coastal Rhode Island blends relaxed Southern California ease with classic New England charm. A full renovation removed interior walls and introduced expansive sliding doors that open to the patio, creating an indoor outdoor living experience. The outdoor area features a tiered swimming pool, a spacious lounge and sweeping ocean views. The modern kitchen includes a two tiered island, woven metal inserts, slab stone backsplash, contemporary lighting and a pass-through window that connects to the outdoor kitchen. The primary bathroom offers unobstructed ocean views from the shower and bathtub, along with a dual vanity and stone wrapped walls that reinforce a sense of luxury. Throughout the home, a cream and neutral materials palette brings comfort and personality.

Ann Kenkel Interiors Russell Hirshon Photography Guest bedroom in 10,000 sq ft Manor House in St. Michael's Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay.Coastal Estate in St. Michael's Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. House was designed after the original 1770's house on the property. Home was designed to be a formal house but was now being used as a weekend retreat. Ann Kenkel had to decorate the house in a manner which was coastal enough so owner's felt like they were on vacation yet formal enough for the style of the house. AK found the house filled with wallpaper from the 1980's. Wallpaper from every room was removed and all trim had to be painted a neutral color. The formal dining room only had one entry. AK opened up a second entry into the dining room which provided a view of the Chesapeake Bay.
