Remodeling ContractorsThis decades-old bathroom had a perplexing layout. A corner bidet had never worked, a toilet stood out almost in the center of the space, and stairs were the only way to negotiate an enormous tub. Inspite of the vast size of the bathroom it had little countertop work area and no storage space. In a nutshell: For all the square footage, the bathroom wasn’t indulgent or efficient. In addition, the homeowners wanted the bathroom to feel spa-like and restful.
Our design team collaborated with the homeowners to create a streamlined, elegant space with loads of natural light, luxe touches and practical storage. In went a double vanity with plenty of elbow room, plus under lighted cabinets in a warm, rich brown to hide and organize all the extras. In addition a free-standing tub underneath a window nook, with a glassed-in, roomy shower just steps away.
This bathroom is all about the details and the countertop and the fireplace are no exception. The former is leathered quartzite with a less reflective finish that has just enough texture and a hint of sheen to keep it from feeling too glam. Topped by a 12-inch backsplash, with faucets mounted directly on the wall, for a little more unexpected visual punch.
Finally a double-sided fireplace unites the master bathroom with the adjacent bedroom. On the bedroom side, the fireplace surround is a floor-to-ceiling marble slab and a lighted alcove creates continuity with the accent lighting throughout the bathroom.

We knew immediately what she meant - we have an open-door policy with our families, too! Which was why we consciously created living spaces that were open, inviting and welcoming.
Now, the only problem our clients would have would be convincing their guests to leave!
Our clients also enjoyed cooking and baking casually, so we created an organized, intuitive and functional kitchen and pantry that made whipping up homemade dips and snacks for their game nights a breeze.

This newly built home in Sammamish needed distinctive design touches to reflect my clients' personal style. This project was two-fold: first, I was hired to assist them in all the finish selection process with the builder, to ensure we would have a cogent and harmonious palate to work with. I was able to negotiate some minor structural and architectural changes with the builder - minor to the builder but these changes made a big difference in how the house would later function. The second phase of this project was specifying and sourcing all of the custom furnishings, window treatments and rugs. And, finally, we wrapped this project up with the accessories on the "final reveal" day.

McCall Design & PlanningThis project is truly one of those designed by setbacks. The owners fell in love with the setting, sitting on a bank above the river, but a sewer easement through the center of the property, parallel to the road, cut the building envelope in half. Our goal was a 1,400 sq ft home with outside space on the river side of the home.
We started with an attached garage concept, which is very desirable in our snowy climate, but it was forcing a compromise with no patio on the back of the house. We negotiated an agreement with the city staff to allow us to build a breezeway over the 25’ sewer easement. The breezeway was designed and constructed to be removable by forklift in 3 pieces, if it ever becomes necessary to work on the sewer line, buried about 20’ below grade.
The owners had varying taste in the style of home they wanted, one on the more traditional end and one on a more contemporary bent. They also wanted low maintenance materials. The result is a simple gable form with over-sized knee braces and gable end vents for function as well as character. The home is finished with cedar shingle siding with a horizontal corrugated metal wainscot below. We opened the back of the house up with windows and sliding doors, giving great views into the trees and down to the river below. The greatest feature is the back patio perched on the bank with the sound of the river rising up from below.
Bureau NamasPerched along the hillside of Via De La Paz, this residence is defined by the way it negotiates elevation. At its core, the project is an exploration of proportion and hierarchy — a multi-level home shaped by the site’s natural topography and oriented to capture ocean views. The design works with the constraints of the hillside, using changes in elevation to create a layered sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces.
Traditional Spanish elements inform the overall character, while a more restrained approach keeps the home grounded and livable. Stone and stucco cladding, a tiled roof, and arched openings reference classic precedents, while steel doors and windows introduce a quieter transitional quality.
The layout was designed to support California’s indoor–outdoor lifestyle without sacrificing intimacy. Terraces, balconies, and connected living spaces create openness, while the scale and flow of each level remain thoughtful and contained.
